Is it possible to edit Skyrim's .nifs in Blender?

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 6:36 pm

I am just wondering, is it possible to edit Skyrim's .nif files in Blender? It seems to be possible with nifSkope (with a few extras), but I have no idea how to get them working in Blender. Using the Oblivion-method gets me an error to 'check console' but 1) I have no idea what console, and 2) the only console I could think of (that black box) has nothing of value...

So, is it possible to edit these files in Blender yet, and if so could anyone explain how to do that, please?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you tried deleting all of the Blocks not able to be imported under FO3 Import and changing the User Versions to FO3's?

Works for Max even if you do not use the updated Max Importer.

I am afraid I have no idea about FO3 Import-- I never used Mesh editing in FO3, but I will take a look and see what I find. Thanks.

Another option would be to export as .obj from Nifskope then import to blender -- export from blender to .obj and then reimport to Nifskope as .obj

Ah, thank-you, that seems to have worked for me :) I still have a few issues, but I think that is just me not being good with Blender :D

Edit: One last thing, is it possible to load texture date in Blender? I never used it too much, so cannot remember if it is possible... :/ It would make things a little easier, I think, if I could see which bits I am meant to be changing...
