So I saved a game standing safely on the side of a mountain, but now when I load it, I'm sliding uncontrollably down the mountain to my death and I can't stop it. Is there anything I can do to fix this or have I lost the 60+ hours of gameplay?

If you're on the ground while sliding and no enemies are nearby, when you load the save, quickly press the "circle" button and open your map > fast travel anywhere. See if that works.

I've tried that, it has me already past the point of no return when I can press anything. Fast travel tells me I can't do it while jumping or falling.

Shout "Whirlwind Sprint" just as you're about to the bottom. It negates the damage if you time it right.

Or, if available, the shout ethereal ... something. Sorry, I'm bad with names.

"Become Ethereal", right? If you have that shout you should be able to survive the fall.

This happened to me once... had to reload a previous game. Always keep multiple saves!!!!
