Transparent giant cave spiders

Best in areas without much light

I don't want more spiders in my skyrim. I can see why it'd be cool though.

I hate spiders. :cryvaultboy:

One the CK comes out, take the shader spell effect on ghost and apply it on the frost spider, change up its stats a bit, and there you go. Could be cool!

Is it weird that I kind of want to eat that spider in the photo?

It looks like it tastes really nice, Iike sweeties megusta.jpg

I don't get the fear of spiders, they fascinate me and kill the annoying bugs like mosquitoes. They also give fair warning if feeling threatened by raising 2 front legs but most of the time they'll crawl onto my hand without being scared. Some even draw a thick white X in their web to stop large prey like birds from flying onto and wrecking all the hard work they do. wonderful creatures, humans are the scary ones.

True, but whenever you enter a cave seeking adventure and treasure and you see a human body wrapped up in a web shell with all it's fluids drained by a gigantic spider, that tends to inspire fear in some... phobia or no. lol

it can be done..either with a ghost effect applied to them or

Add alphaproperties to the nif,

then make a new spider texture that is transparent and then set the nif properties right

I will see what I can come up with for my Creatures Project..

Good idea but...

If something like this were to be attempted, it'd be better served with a different model. A simple retexture, given the distinctive stocky build of the default spiders, would seem kinda gimmicky. Also, the ghostly effect isn't terribly effective for that application. I think part of the creepiness of translucent cave crawlies is the succulent quality of seeing the pulsing heaving internals. The ghost effect would let you see through the spider, but not into it.

What might be a cool use of the default hunter-type build would be to shrink it (maybe the size of the in-game hens), change the coloration to something like http://i1.treknature.com/photos/764/auleurillus_sp.jpg , retrofit a 3-5 meter leaping attack, and place them in appropriately over-webbed abandoned tundra homesteads or burial mounds as jumping spiders swarms.

Same concept shrunk dramatically more in a red color scheme and you'd have swarms of killer forest mites.

When folks get around to adding more spiders and whatnot, it'd be nice if they made the Frostbite Poison tier up as well. It's really nice early on, but downright bad at later levels with high Alchemy, and it makes sense that more powerful spider = more potent poison.

Also like the glass spider idea, cool stuff.
