Dual Casting Problems

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 11:13 pm

I am having some problems dual-casting with my character. My Destruction skill is at 22 and I have the Destruction Dual Cast Perk. I am able to equip Flame on both the right and left hands, but when I pull both the right and left trigger (at the same time), I see a single flame from each hand instead of one flame from both. Does anyone have any suggestions or experienced this same issue? I have searched the forums, but found nothing like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There's a perk, i believe, that you need in order to successfully dual wield magicka. Also, check your timing when you press down the triggers. When you successfully dual cat, both hands come together and form a large orb before firing. I haven't seen any issues with this due to the patches though.

No, dual casting works fine for me, you have to pull both triggers at the same time or you just get a one had shot, at least that's what I've found, I haven't noticed dual casting being that sensitive in that the trigger pulling has to be perfect but if you are slightly off it will only cast one handed.

If you're getting a shot from each hand are you getting the damage of a dual cast? It might just be a graphics glitch. As Battle_Mage says your hand should come together and a ball or gout of flames should come from the middle depending on the spell.

I am pulling the triggers at the same time, but my hands don't come together to cast the spell. Sounds like you don't have to be perfect with the trigger timing, which is good - but I know that I am pulling them really close to the same time. I have tried over and over, but no success. Maybe it is my wireless controller?

Is the controller 3rd party? I havn't had this issue either so i'm not sure what may be causing it.

No. It is a genuine Microsoft Xbox wireless controller. It just seems like the program doesn't recognize that I am pressing both triggers at the same time. I also have issues where the d-pad doesn't respond while I am in a menu - others have reported this issue.

I will go ahead and change the batteries to see if that helps - the controller hasn't started flashing at me yet, but it is worth a try.

I also use the 360 wireless, the same black one i've had for 4 years now, and i've never had an issue. The d-pad thing I have suffered, but I found that moving one of the anolog sticks causes the menus to recognize the d-pad again.
