[WIP] "Blood & Stars"

Post » Fri May 18, 2012 1:31 am

So, I like the way the races are right now, and I like the Starsign Bonuses... but I think they could still be improved. As far as I know, I can't accomplish this mod without the CK, so this is just the first draft. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Birthsigns: While I felt the existing benefits were nice, I thought it would be interesting to up the ante a bit by giving each Birthsign a Passive and Active effect. Some may feel this is overpowered, but, the way I see it, it is a mod for a single player game. Still, I don't want to cheat, so I tried to keep the changes fairly reasonable.

Spoiler

THE WARRIOR
Passive Effect (Warwyrd): Learn Combat Skills 20% Faster. [Same as Default.]
Greater Power (Warrior's Fury): Power Attacks take less Stamina [Perhaps -50%? Probably for 60s, since that's the duration for most Greater Powers.]
Alt. Greater Power (Warrior's Challenge): Paralyzing/Fear AoE [I'm on the fence about this - I won't put in both, but Warrior's Fury may be kind of lame for Archers. Then again, most Archers are probably more into stealth.]

THE MAGE
Passive Effect (Fay): Learn Magic Skills 20% Faster. [Same as Default.]
Greater Power (Mage's Will): Fortify Magicka 100% for 60s [Because what Mage wouldn't like more Magicka?]

THE THIEF
Passive Effect (Quickling): Learn Stealth Skills 20% Faster. [Same as Default]
Greater Power (Thief's Instinct): Detect Life 60s [To help detect guards and other annoyances. I thought about basing it on Morrowind's "Akaviri-Dangersense, but it seemed weird to give a Thief a Magic Shield power.]

THE SERPENT
Passive Effect (Serpentine): +50% Poison Resistance [Nice for Argonians and the like.]
Greater Power (Serpent's Curse): Paralyze 5s, Damage 25pts on Target. [Same as Default.]

THE LADY
Passive Effect (Lady's Grace): Regen Health and Stamina 25% Faster [Same as Default.]
Greater Power (Lady's Favor): Pacify AoE 60s [Figured it matched up well with the Speechcraft boost from earlier games.]

THE STEED
Passive Effect (Charioteer): Fortify Carrying Capacity +100, Suffer No Movement Penalty from Armor [Same as Default.]
Greater Power (Steed's Endurance): +100% Movement Speed 60s [May lower percentage if the increase is too ridiculous.]

THE LORD
Passive Effect (North Blood): +50 Damage Resistance, +25% Magic Resistance [Same as Default.]
Greater Power (Lord's Majesty): Fortify Health and/or Health Regen 60s [Not sure which to use; I like the Health Regen thing, because it works as a callback to the idea of those under the sign of the Lord being "Troll-Kin"]

THE APPRENTICE
Passive Effect (Elfborn): +100% Magicka Regen, +100% Magicka Weakness [Same as Default.]
Greater Power (Apprentice's Cantrip): Slow on Target or Ward 60s [I kind of like the Ward idea better, but I fear it is too similar to one of the Atronach powers, assuming I use that one.]

THE ATRONACH
Passive Effect (Womb-Burned): +50 Magicka; +50% Spell Absorb, -50% Magicka Regen [Same as Default.]
Greater Power (Atronach's Call): Summon Atronach 60s (Possibly Leveled?) [I like this, but I don't know how much sense it makes.]
Alt. Greater Power (Atronach's Flesh): Armor on Self 60s [This one is nice to, and reinforces the idea of your character being like a Golem.]

THE RITUAL
Passive Effect (Mara's Gift): Fortify Health 25% (?) [Not sure how much I should Fortify it, or if I should just Fortify Regen instead...]
Greater Power (Ritual's Summons): Raise Dead [Same as Default.]

THE LOVER
Passive Effect (Mooncalf): Learn All Skills 15% Faster [Same as Default.]
Greater Power (Lover's Touch): Paralyze on Target [Would prefer On-Touch, but not sure if that's viable.]

THE SHADOW
Passive Effect (Moonshadow): Fortify Stealth [Not sure by how much.]
Greater Power (Shadow's Stride): Invisibility 60s [Same as Default.]

THE TOWER
Passive Effect (Beggar's Nose): Increase likelihood of finding Gold. [Similar to the Morrowind Spell. Probably slightly less of a boost than the Imperial Trait.]
Greater Power (Tower Key): Unlock Expert or Lower Lock [Same as Default.]

I am still working on the races, but I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

BTW - This is my first ever mod that I plan to release. Yay!
