do you think the ps3360 should get console commands?

both the ps3 and the 360 are capable of handling a usb keyboard. including console commands on these platforms would allow for players to fix buggy quests that may not be repairable through a patch. for instance, if a player encounters a bugged quest that later gets patched, the patch isn't going to correct that player's save file and they will still have to deal with the bug. i realize that it's probably too late to add a feature like this in skyrim, but what are your thoughts on adding this feature to future bethesda games? perhaps bethesda could include console commands with limited functionality compared to the pc version wherein the player cannot adjust things like draw distance or other things that could cause stability issues, but only give players access to commands that could be used to repair or correct bugs or glitches.

Sounds like a good idea to me; I'm not sure why the console players shouldn't be able to access such a valuable tool to begin with.

I do think that they should, but it will never happen. Proprietary software laws, and the Security programming for the games would prevent this from taking place so that the number of cheaters/modders could still be safely controlled. I don't know how any of that is really going to affect a single-player game, but I know that Microsoft and Sony will never let it happen (unfortunately).

The PC users just get a small bonus over the Consoles as far as this issue is concerned.

Yeah was about to say this. Microsoft would throw a temper tantrum if we could have console commands. svcks too. But whatever. Skyrim is just a game in the end.

It will never happen, Microsoft doesn't want people getting achivements so easily by adding items or teleporting to locations.

phhh... they could easily block achievements for anyone who uses the console on a saved game. ding done deal. Prime example of this - Resident Evil 5, if you enable any of the cheats, Achievements are disabled.

So... The reasoning that they haven't added it because of the whole achievement factor just got blown out the window.

I think it would be a good idea, and would give people 1 more reason to use a console instead of a PC.

So... I vote Yes on console.

Being a programmer, There are many different ways that they could simply disable achievement awards if the console is used.

It would be nice to even get a few limited commands. I don't need all the console commands PC gets, but being able to toggle a slight noclip when my character gets stuck (happens more often than it should) so I could hop out without having to load a save from about an hour before.

I don't need stuff like "player.additem", just some stuff to help me get unstuck or past bugs.

Buuut.... probably will never happen. Sadly. :sadvaultboy:
