I have to give the shield to Aela, this is very early in the questline. The Skyforge blacksmith guy is supposed to give it to me, but whenever he is about to give it, the whole thing crashes to desktop.

At first it didnt though, because I had a steel shield on me, but then it turned into Aela's shield, so then my shield was gone.
