An Oblivion Issue - Graphics Corruption?

Post » Sat May 26, 2012 7:38 am

I have been an avid Oblivion player for years but lost my copy in a move a year or two back. I saw Oblivion GOTY edition in Tagets a while back and had to get it. I played for a while and used some console codes here and there for when I got stuck or plain out frustrated. Mostly I purged the cell buffers to free up any unused memory in case of memory leakage. A few hours ago I had to rush out to something and so I used the qqq shortcut and left the comp. I got back and restarted Oblivion only to find that no matter what save I used, my autosave, quick save, full save, even my finances save would load as a solid color. Some a sky blue, others grey. I tried restarting the computer, uninstalling/reinstalling the game, troubleshooting and diagnostics, I even removed all saves in hopes of it being a save corruption. I tried toggling the environmental displays too. Can someone tell me if there is a fix? I'd like to do one final run in Tamriel fighting Mahrunes Dagon and the denizens of Oblivion before I jump into the shoes of the dragonborn hero

You posted in the wrong forum. This forum is specifically for discussion in regards to the Elder Scrolls Online. If you are having graphical issues related to Oblivion, you should post here: http://www.gamesas.com/forum/23-oblivion-hardware-and-software-issues/.

Interesting. It just goes to show how little attention I pay to anything "online". I'm sure I was aware Bethesda had plans for such a critter at some time or other, and managed to forget. This thread having been moved to where it belonged now, I didn't know about the online game having gotten close enough to its release to start a forum for it.

For the OP, sorry to say I have never heard of any symptoms like yours. But since the comment above still was in the past tense when the thread was in the wrong place, I thought an acknowledgment of the transfer was in order.

My apologies, I didn't realize I'd misplaced it. Thank you for transferring it; I just wish someone had some idea of what was wrong.

My fiancé had a last ditch idea of doing a system restore and well, all I can say is that I'm glad I'm marrying such a smart lady n.n Thanks for coming to check out my little glitch and it's wrong positioning in the forums. I hope to be of help to others and take part in various discussions.

Farewell, and may Talos guide you
