Stats? <can I have it> <please> ^^

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 8:29 am

Is it me or dose it sound like they are not planning on giving us many stats for our charaters? If not, that kinda svcks really. Basicaly making it a RPG for dummies! I'm old school FFXI and LOVE all the things there are in the game to take into account when fighting mobs or doing anything els in the game really. I love stats in a game like strength, accuracy, evasion, dextarity, & agility for the mellee class and intellegance, mind, healing magic, enfeebling magic, elemental magic, enhancing magic for the mage class. All things to take into account making your character better as you level up. Having gear and food to increase certain stats for certain situations is awesome and I have yet to see any MMORPG be as good as and successful as FFXI in this area. You cant just sit down after 5 min. of game play and be a master of the whole damn game! In FFXI it takes time and effort to be a good player. I like having to earn my way to the top or as close to the top as i can get. I love a good challange with a chance at high rewards. Its stuff like this that keeps me playing this sort of a game. There is always something to do and I never get board playing it. Its very rewarding and satisfying to know that you are pimp and you worked hard and earned ever bit of it!!! ^^ I also love how everything in the game is based on an element(earth, wind, fire, ice, water, lighting, light, & dark) Most all the mobs have a weakess and a strength to certain elements so for example you would not attack a fire based mob with a fire based attack or you could possably cure or do very little damage to it. So, you always have to be mindful of this. Mobs are also strong against certain weapons and weak against others. Blunt, percing, slashing for example. A skeleton is weak to blunt so a blunt weapon is a best weapon against it. Just saying, its stuff like this that make the game so much more interesting and enjoyable! I'm really, really, really hoping that they incorperate things like this into Elderscrolls for stat concious freaks like me!!! ^^

Sorry, dont mean to sound like a sales person for FFXI but I really am not to be honest! I would dearly LOVE to see a MMORPG that can compete with it if not annihilate FFXI actually!

Also sorry for mispellings, I cant seem to get the spell check to work at all.

not sure what would have led you to believe there won't be many stats, as that hasn't been talked about yet.

That′s it. We dont really know how the characters will be build, not even the classes matter.

Just been reading some of the interviews and going off past history with Elderscrolls & I'm getting a feeling that maybe they are gunna do away with some of or alot of the stats in the game like they did with Skyrim. I could be totally wrong but just kinda seems like that is what is gunna happen. More or less just a gut feeling then actual fact. But we shall see.

I think in the end, for the sake of the MMO, it will all circle around balance issues.

So, whats this mean really? Hardly any stats to skillup and work with. Just dumb things down for the sake of PvP?

Skill based game: An action game. The "skill" is refering to player skill.
Stat based game: The type you (OP) like, where the stats of the player's character increase with use, representing the growth of the player's character as the character trains and uses the same skills over time.
By saying that TES:O won't be skill based, I assume it will be stat based.

I agree with you about FFXI, I loved the in-depth stats! The only problem was that the game was so intricate that most players couldn't dedicate the time. (or just keep up with how deep the game was) That's why the game couldn't retain players I believe. Amazing game though! Wrote the book on most RPG's. The economy was especially inventive. So much game, so little time...

^^ [can i have it please?] 2K gill !!

Wanted to test it out. I should have specified if it was subscription based for consoles too but I assume it would be the same anyways.

Oh well nm.
