War hammer Online and ESO

For anyone that followed the announcement of WAR and the lead up to release, don't you think ESO is sort of taking the same route? I clearly remember a lot of hyped up WAR videos leading up to release excitedly revealing a little more information. They had a mascot sort of guy from the team that would be in each video, just full of excitement. Needless to say it really hyped up WAR, but we all know what happened with that. It bombed, hard. However, I have more faith in ZeniMax. I just thought it was an interesting comparison.

I loved WAR. The problem was no one else did, and within like, a month there was no one doing RvR or public quests.

I think they dropped the ball by making it two sided and the classes being mirrored versions of each other. The open world rvr was great, but because they also put in instanced battlegrounds it crippled open world pvp. People just stood around and queued up for the next round of capture the flag. This is one of my concerns for ESO. There needs to be a percieved threat to your real or faction in order to motivate people to get out into Cyrodiil and take/defend objectives. Instanced pvp needs to be restricted to lower level brackets, like in DAoC. When your level 30-34, you go to this specific battleground. When you're level 20-24, you go to this other battleground. This allows lower levels to hone pvp skills without crippling max lvl pvp. There should be no instanced pvp at max level. But seeing as how we already know in ESO they are making it so that when you go into pvp you jump up to max stats and level, this isn't going to happen. It's dumb

A big problem with WAR was the word design.. There was like a single road zig zagging throughout the whole land. And the PvE was terrible too. I dont see either of those being a problem in ESO.
