Who is going to E3 and will be playing ESO?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 11:11 am

I'll be there, and while I'm not sure whether it'll be playable, I'll be doing my darndest to get some hands-on time with the game. I will give a full report on these forums if I'm able to play it (or watch someone else play it - sometimes the demos are hands-off). Hopefully we'll get to make a video of it too.

Anyone else going?

I think the answer for most will be a "no" as E3 is not open to the public. So unless they have connections to the press or to the gaming industry, they won't be getting in. Honestly though, I wouldn't expect the game to actually be playable at E3. It was just announced after all. We will be lucky if we get some live footage of the game in action, but that's about all I will expect besides some announcements of the "advanced features" in the game.

It won't be on the showfloor to demo. You would have to get a behind closed doors session. Press only.

Yeah that's the plan.

On one hand, with a year away and 5 years of dev behind it, you'd expect something playable by now, but then again BSW rarely give E3 up-front access. They usually save that for their own QuakeCon. Hoping for BCD with it or at least a watchable gameplay demo.

True, QuakeCon will probably be a better opportunity to play it, especially considering it's a PC focused event. E3 showfloor is set up with consoles. It would be awkward to have people playing an MMO on the showfloor.

Maybe I'm going crazy, but I remember reading a lot of MMO reveals, demos, etc. at E3 over the years. I don't think it would be out of place at all.

On the contrary I've played a lot of public demos of MMOs at E3. Warhammer Online, Gaia Online, Hellgate London, Age of Conan, some greek myth themed MMO that never made it to release.

In TES' case however, they tend not to favor E3, and instead hold off the big stuff til Quakecon, but you never know, this isn't BGS this time. If it's in a state where they want people playing it, it'll be playable.

This is true, however considering E3 is closed to the press and the gaming industry, the fans wouldn't really be getting a hands-on of the game. QuakeCon seems a lot more likely as it is open to the public and a lot more exposure from the consumer will be present. E3 is all for show and big reveals.

I remember that MMO that never made it. Was in Beta for it as well but I can't remember the name for it. Anyways, I will be there as well with a full report of what we are allowed to see.

That's it, Gods and Heroes! Got an email today saying there should be a hands-on BCD I can attend! Good to know I'm not the only one.
