The stage knew how bad Radiohead's music was... It did us all a favor :stare:

But seriously too bad the band members didn't get injured.

I feel sorry for the people though.

Sorry for their taste in music

Yeah I also wish injury upon people I don't even know.

I could say the same for rabid Guns 'n Roses fans, but I don't.

The question has been discussed on other sites concerning the construction practices of stage scaffolding. The usual comments concerning cheap labor, yada yada...prevailed in the comments.

One I found interesting was...and quoting:

"Van Halen had a provision in their contract that said they wanted a bowl of M&M's in their dressing room with all the brown ones removed. It was buried deep in all the technical requirements for their stage construction. If they came to the show and found brown M&M's in the bowl, they knew there was a good chance that the contract had not been read as closely as it needed to be and there could be problems with the safety of their stage. The M&M's were like a canary in a coal mine."

Because Van Halen is a good band

I've never heard a single Radiohead song believe it or not....I've heard a couple of tunes of that band with that Axl fella a few years back...they kinda stink if you ask me.

They were good up until Use Your Illusion 1 & 2, songs like Sweet Child O' Mine, November Rain, Yesterdays etc... All good songs. Its all opinion of course

:hehe:

I'm more a Yes, / Emerson, Lake and Palmer / Jethro Tull / Frank Zappa / Pink Floyd kind of aficionado personally...I kinda stopped following Rock just about the time Van Halen came out.
I hear some of it, but I don't really listen to much of it. "It's all opinion of course".

This I can agree with. The stage failed its mission to kill radiohead so unfortunately we'll still be hearing from them.

What I don't get is why they wussed out and canceled the concert. It's sad that someone died, but the show goes on. To cancel the show means that guy / girl died for no reason...

Sure they don't have a fancy stage, but who needs one? I saw Blink 182 on their reunion tour and it was POURING down rain and thundering and lightening for half the night and most of their electronics were out. They still came out and played in the pouring rain with nothing but work lights on the stage. One of the best concerts ever, it was so raw. No light show, nothing fancy, just three guys on stage dripping wet and having fun. It was cool, they didn't go all superstar, they toughed it out and put on the best show they could (It was also FREEZING cold rain...).

Just saying.

This isn't some cheesy movie. "We must fight or their sacrifice will have been in vain" type crap.

A man lost his life, and they thought it best to cancel the concert. For all you know one or all of the ban members was close to this man. And you want them to play after potentially losing a friend?

Even so, its likely not a lack of "fancy lighting", it has now become a safety thing as well, where even a basic stage with sound-system is questioned and will have to be reviewed to make sure this doesn't happen again.
