I hated fishing in Ocarina of Time. All I did was searching for that [censored] worm so I could get the [censored] eel.

[EDIT] Also I liked stealing the guy's hat with the fishing pole.

Ocarina of Time, I use to just sit there for hours when I was younger. I also enjoyed the Reel Fishing games for the original PlayStation. I also use to play Virtual Deep Sea fishing for the PC.

Hand fishing in skyrim. Never really cared for fishing in video games. I did a lot of fishing in fable though, and it was ok.

Breath of Fire 3 and 4 have a pretty good fishing mechanic.

I like fishing in Animal Crossing: Wild World. I don't play it much anymore though.

In World of Warcraft fishing was/is a chore. I think I had one character up to 375/525 skill. I just made sure to have a bunch of gear and stat boosters to get the rest of the way. The rest of my characters never even picked up a pole.

Never really done fishing in games before. Without trying to sound condescending why don't you try fishing in real life? You might like it if you enjoy it in games. You might find that more relaxing.

I agree about IRL fishing. Very relaxing and nice scenery all around. Whenever I get the free time to set up a trip I go.

Grand idea. What else from Video Games can I do in real life?

I know, I'm gonna go buy an AR-15 and a few boxes of ammo! Real Life Call Of Duty, here I come!

IRL fishing can be fun, I never catch anything though, but it gives me time to think about stuff.

I've never tried fishing myself... the main allure of it is the excuse to have a nap for me. But cost and where to actually fish get in the way and lack of actual knowledge on how to even fish. ^_^

Fishing minigames seems to be mostly a Japanese thing for some reason. To this day I probably still prefer how fishing worked in Link's Awakening on Game Boy. Unlike most others it was viewed sideways and let you view clearly below the water as you controlled the bait.

I was disappointed that there was no fishing mini-game in Skyrim. I was convinced it would be a sure thing after seeing salmon steaks in the gameplay trailer. Still, at least the hand-fishing is something. There's something very manly and visceral about stripping down and jumping from a rock into a lake to catch a salmon for dinner while a blizzard rages all around you! :)
