Help fixing a turn table (record player)

Post » Wed Jun 27, 2012 3:38 am

So my dad shipped my all in one enclosed record player type thing (it's has a record player, cd player, etc all enclosed) and my records...However when I tried to turn it on the turntable wouldn't spin. The motor runs, but the table doesn't spin.

So I opened it up and it's hard to see the turntable part because there are only two kinda small access holes and the CD player and control panel stuff sits in the way (I'd remove the CD player but it's attached to everything and I can't see the wires from the under side to disconnect them. I think it's all soldered anyway.

I pulled out the rubber belt that was under the turntable.. It's attached to something underneath which I can't see, but I assume it's the little pole on the turntable because when I pull it the table spins. I just can't figure out where it's supposed to hook up with the motor.

Pics attached, any help would be nice. It'd be a lot easier if I could just pull the turn table off the top but it doesn't seem to be built where you can do that.

EDIT: Okay I didn't realize you can remove the platter and the pulley set up is right underneath it. So much easier. Once I figure out exactly how the belt goes...

EDIT 2: Alrighty, all fixed I think. (let's' hope :P). The belt simply goes around the little thing coming off the motor and then wraps around the bottom of the platter. Pretty simple. Who knew? And I was going to start pulling parts trying to get at it from the bottom...haha. Gotta love the internet.

Thanks anyway..At least posting on here gave me the break I needed before I started breaking crap
