So yesterday i was working (i work at a fast food res)(not saying where ) then a customer ordered a meal. So the total was 15 something. She hands over a 20 Dollar bill. There is this marker that we must use *mandotory* on 20, 50, 100 dollar bills. So the 20 was fake it turn black. *which means fake*

The lady was like WTF .. all scared, but i have a question. Where do this fake dollar bills come from? Is there more out there?

Anybody can counterfeit money, she may not even be the counterfeiter she may just be the unlucky women to have gotten it back as change from a place that didn't check.

There are some out there. I always get annoyed when employees of a certain business assume that just because I have a counterfeit bill, that it means I knew it was in the first place. What if I walked into a Burger King and then gave a $5 for my burger then they check to see if it's counterfeit, they will automatically assume that I knew it was a fake bill. But counterfeit money exchanges hands from the source.

So there are people with fake bills in their wallets right now without their knowledge.

Depends. Some people try to make money by counterfeiting currency through various methods (most half-baked). Sometimes nation states get into the act (and that's where things get really complicated).

We have loads of fake bills come through our area quite often. It was so bad in the last year that most places here will not accept anything over a $20 no matter what, and check them with some electronic thing.

There are people who are constantly getting stuck losing out because they end up with fake bills and try to deposit them. Nothing the banks can do... you're just out that amount.
