Enter the saga of the "Rebar Man":
Spoiler
A customer comes to me and asks me to cut rebar to 40 inch lengths (out of 120inch long rods of rebar). I asked him how many rods of rebar he wanted, he told me to cut them from one. I do so, I cut three 40inch rods from the 120inch rod.
He comes back and tells me he wanted 4 rods from the 120inch rod. So he orders more, but then wants 50 inch lengths. This time he wants three 50 inchs from one 120inch rod. I try to explain to him why this is not possible, but he cuts me off every time to repeat what he wants me to do.
After maybe trying to explain to him its impossible to get 150 inchs from a 120 inch rod he becomes belligerent and shouts things like "oh my god just do it!" "this is stupid!" "what is wrong with you?"
I am an incredibly patient person, but at that point my supervisor stepped in and took control of the situation. (He told me later he could see my face turning deep red and veins were beginning to pop)
When my supervisor began making the cuts the customer realized what he would not let me tell him when 2 pieces were cut, and an additional rod of rebar was collected to cut the desired remainder. The customer was unapologetic and went on his way.
The place i work for is known nationally for having the best customer service (better than large chain stores) rating, and puts emphasis on going above and beyond normal effort for our customers. And the majority of the customers i deal with are some of the most inconsiderate and unapologeticly obstinate people i have ever seen in my life.
I would say that 6/10 are [censored]s 3/10 are ok, and 10 percent are really cool.
However i know for a fact that some of our customers shop at our store because they know that they can abuse us and we have to smile back at them with a [censored] eating smile while we thank them.
Any ways /rant. ive held off from doing one of these for about a year since i've been working at this place.

any one else had any similar "bad customer" experiences while working in retail?
