Superstitions

Post » Mon Jul 02, 2012 3:26 am

What are you superstitions? Do you do small little "rituals" that you believe will bring or prevent certain types of luck? Do you believe them or are you a paranoid parrot like me?

For example, I always make sure my money in my wallet is facing the right way and in order. NOTHING is folded/upside down or out of place.
(I dont do it everytime, mind you! Only when I think I need "luck")

I don't do anything...[censored] happens regardless of killing chickens and throwing salt.

I know a few relatives of mine that believe in witches...

Killing chickens?

I had one, but I was little and thought a $2 bill was cool

Also keeping money in your wallet like that sounds like OCD not superstition.
I don't do it every chance I get, I only do it if something is coming up and I want good luck so I do that.

My dad gave me a $2 bill told me not to spend it

Killing chickens?

Some sort of way to determine what to do or more like a reason to kill a chicken and eat it. http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2011/03/31/benbrook-chicken-deaths-may-have-been-baseball-superstition/..

Can't think of anything, so I most likely do not have a superstition.

Ive been collecting them every time i get payed, i would ask if they had any when depositing the check. I have 16 so far.

My plan is to hang on to them for a while, then go and try and use them somewhere where they will decline it thinking its fake, just so i can get upset and be that one customer who is a pain in the ass XD

I feel inclined to be superstitious, but other than a vague discomfort at the usual suspects (the number 13 being unlucky etc) I think I'm just too lazy.

I feel that an almighty sky god, one descended from the hot sands of the desert knows my every thought, and if I so much as think evil he anoints certain priests who can condemn me to physical punishment. If this means stoning or burning so be it - the sky god has spoken. So I try my best to supplicate this sky god and his self-appointed servants, and I try to spread his infallible rule to everyone, whether they like it or not. Because deep down inside I know they all WANT it, if they want to be saved by his mercy.

So yeah, I'm a big fan of superstition.

I keep a mannequin in my basemant to scare away the Jehovah witnesses... :P

Speaking seriously though I really don't have any superstitions per say, but there are some odd things that I do. One thing is i'll check the 2 doors of the house 3 times before going to bed and the same for making sure the oven is off. Don't know why I do it, I just check them 3 times before I feel safe. After that i'll keep larger bills in back with my smaller ones up front with my relative doing vice versa. I doubt it's superstitious nature as much as I just want to keep them in order.

However, I will say that one thing i'm probably superstitious with is my watch. Got it as a present to myself and had a good health report from my cardio doc. Had it taken to get some links removed, wearing it ever since. Consider it good luck for some reason.

I love randomly opening umbrellas inside just to see the horrified faces of some people. It's hilarious.
