Dear Mrs. Video Game

Post » Tue Jul 03, 2012 2:22 am

Goodbye, Mrs. Video Game. We had fun times, and fun times, and then boring times, and boring times, and boring times, and boring times, and boring ... And then I just couldn't stand to look at you anymore. You used to be exciting, interesting, brave, and now you're just ... well, it's like you've given up. You go to work, you clock in your time, you churn out your dross, and you expect me to want to hang around, waiting. And waiting, for things to improve, for you to get your act together, to get a life and interests and a soul again. But I'm done waiting. The last time I felt anything for you was when you made Okami. That was quite beautiful. But it was a brief splutter, wasn't it? That was a long time ago, now.
I'm done. I'm not waiting anymore. Mrs. Book has way much more in stock for me. Even Mrs. TV and Mrs. Cinema have more going for them than you do at this point. (I don't think I need to explain how sad it is for me to compare you to Mrs. T & C and have you come out the loser, Mrs. Video Game.)
Goodbye.

Sincerely
Oof

She's got too many used car miles, anyway. You're better off.

She's a tramp. She hangs out with a lot of guys and women when you aren't around Oof. Me included.

Her medical (and elective surgery) costs are atrocious, too. Do you know how much money I spend on keeping this vapid woman happy? It's ghastly stuff, man. Totally not worth it.

This is true. Why, just yesterday, I played the hell out of her for six straight hours. She wears me out, but I keep going back for more.

Just like a potato chip, once you have one you just can't stop.

See, I was okay with this. I think it's okay for a woman to have a healthy need for healthy things. Mrs. Book has that problem too, but not quite as much, and she's much more discreet. But Mrs. Book is much less needy, she's more intelligent, and much more interesting. She's a lot older (in fact, she's so old, she happens to have given birth to all of the ladies in my life, except for Mrs. Video Game), but that's fine. It just means she's had a lot of time to get a lot more going for her.

Nah, there's no need for that. Just because she's woefully uninteresting doesn't mean she deserves a spade to the noggin.

That not very nice
You misunderstood what I meant. I simply meant get a spade and go to the beach with her, she'll lighten up then.
