I don't know if this is the best place to ask ( I'm new here ) but if I wanted to mod games that I bought off Steam should I not install Steam in the regular Program Files location on Windows 7? I want to mod Skyrim and the like but I heard that can be restricted if you install into that folder or something.
If you have User Account Control turned on (it's on by default), it doesn't like it when you make changes in Program Files. It's not impossible to mod with Steam installed there, but it would probably be easier if you installed it somewhere else.

Thanks.
So it'd be safer if I installed it into... say, Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Steam ?
