Computer Build Opinions.

On to the details.

CPU: Intel Core I7 2600k
Video Card: GTX 680
Mother Board: Asus P8Z77-V Pro
PSU: XFX 750W PRO 750W XXX Edition
RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR3 Ram x4gig
Heatsink: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus
HDD: Seagate Barricuda 3TB 7200RPM
Case: Coolermaster Cosmos 2

My main concern is if that heatsink will have room on that mobo. Does anyone have any experience with this particular combination? I'm 99% sure the Cosmos 2 will fit the heatsink since this thing is truly a massive beast that scares me. I've got it right here, and looking at it. It's got a different mobo with a noctua (which is bigger) in it. So I doubt the problem will be space, just if it will fit the mobo well. Bring on the thoughts.

Really no reason to get an i7 unless you're doing some serious virtualization or multimedia editing. You'll never utilize it otherwise.

I don't like 3 TB drives. I still don't trust 2 TB drives for primary storage (purely use them for backup)

GPU seems to be overly expensive on the bang for your buck scale. No doubt it's powerful, but $550 powerful?

Must say, though, I definitely approve of the motherboard.

I was dubious of 3/2tb drives as well. It wont be hard to convince me to go with a more reliable 1TB. I'm already considering it. Video card stays, have my mind set on it. It's not too rediculously expensive for me to warrant downgrading it slightly to save a few dollars. If that makes sense. Oh but I will be using that i7 2600k on a few games with mods. So no worries there.

Edit
Thx on compiment for mobo. It's got just the right amout of... everything. Hahah.

What I'm saying is gaming won't take advantage of what i7 offers over i5, even with a bunch of mods in the game. Contrary to popular belief, gaming isn't the most taxing thing a computer can do.

Yep. The difference in gaming performance between i5 and i7 is practically none. Nowadays games rely much more on GPUs so they're the ones that will make the difference in performance in video games, not CPUs. We've passed the Morrowind age long ago. :P

Looking aroud on some websites the numbers support the claims. So very good chance I'll go I5 2500k. Better? If not recommend some for me.

That one seems to be the best bang for the buck Intel CPU at the moment, AFAIK.
