Werewolf:
Underground
The Aftermath
The streets of Underground City had gone silent, and the essence of what once made the city great was to be destroyed by the very thing that had shaped it existence. The shopping hall was a bloodied mess, the lift had become the crime-scene of an endless stream of murders, the pub was empty and liquor less thanks to the loss of its bartenders, and the houses that once housed the residents of Underground City had either become the tomb of its inhabitants, or abandoned after their death.
______
Even with all that had occurred, the Mayor, and the remaining innocent citizens, still believed they could prevail. But it seemed some of them had lost their voice, and the only debate that occured was between Christi (Partpoison) and Ukko (Gorbad), both accusing the other of the crime. Enya (Clintos) and Malistrone Bakerbarnes (Lightcurx) kept their mouths silent. As curfew started up, the Mayor glanced at his watch and grimanced; time was running out.
Ukko glanced at the Mayor, noticing he was glancing at his watch, and looked out towards the city. A devilish smile crept across his face as the lights slowly began to turn off. The Mayor looked at Ukko, then at all of the other citizens; Enya seemed to have taken a seat against the stairs, rocking back and forth while singing under her breath in a language no one could understand. Malistrone was stuck between both Christi and Ukko, and he glanced wearily to the left and right, unsure of who to listen to. He kept looking over his shoulder to check on the oncoming wave of darkness, which was fast approaching. Christi and Ukko were locked in a stare-down, neither taking their eyes of the other.
The Mayor slowly began shaking his head as the last of the electricity within the city shut-off. Without a second thought, he ran back into City Hall and made his way towards the Generator in the back. As soon as he reached the metal door that contained it, he quickly pressed his hand towards the scanner on the side, and then entered the fourteen digit pass code. After it was clarified, he was greeted with the normal automated message, “Welcome, Mayor Rodriguez," and the door creaked open. He entered quickly, flipping several switches, and then slammed a glowing red button on the side of the room. Red lights lit up the Generator room, and slowly, they began lighting up the rest of City Hall.
“Emergency Generators Activated. Remaining usage time; Forty-Five minutes. Remaining power reserves are awaiting divergance orders,” Stated a lone monitor within the center of room.
The Mayor sighed. “I hoped it wouldn’t have had to come to this..” He glanced towards the monitor. “Diverge all remaining power to the Lift. Override all curren-” His sentence was cut off by a blow to the head, and his body fell to the floor.
He glanced upwards, his vision a daze, and was barely able to make out Ukko, hovering above him, with a medical textbook the size of two encyclopedias in his hands.
“Whiskey sends his regards, Mr. Major,” Ukko laughed, “Too bad he isn’t alive to see his plan come into full fruition,” And with that, Ukko slammed the book once more into the Mayor’s skull, knocking him out cold.
______
“I knew it was you, you piece of [censored]!” A feminine voice shouted. “Let me out of these [censored] ties so I can kick your ass myself!”
“Shut up, Christi. He’s not going to let us go, so stop pissing him off,” A deeper, more masculine voice shouted.
“Scriú tú, tú píosa cac, beidh mé ag sracadh do liathróidí amach agus iad a bheathú le mo gabhair,” Shouted another feminine voice, different then the first.
The Mayor’s eyes slowly fluttered open, and found himself tied up against one of the poles within the Generator room, with Christi on his left, Enya on his right.
Rodriguez shook his head a bit, trying to focus on the situation at hand. He looked around the room, and found Ukko hovering over the central monitor, desperately shouting at it in an attempt to make it work.
“Invalid voice code. Please exit the Generator room at once. Security has been notified,”
He shouted once more.
“Invalid voice code. Please exit the Generator room at once. Security has been notified,”
“Security isn’t coming you stupid piece of [censored]. NOW DIVERGE POWER TO THE PROCESSING PLANT!”
Too preoccupied with the monitor, The Mayor took his chance to check on the other survivors.
“Christi? Your still alive?” He whispered, making sure to keep his voice low.
“Mayor? Your awake? Holy [censored], when we came in and I saw you knocked out cold, I thought we were done for,” She responded, also in a low tone.
“Yeah, I’m awake. Whats the situation? Why hasn’t he killed yo.. US yet?” The Mayor said, fumbling with the ropes that held his hands in place.
“I’m assuming that he still needs you for the voice recognition system,” Stated Malistrone, who was tied up behind the Mayor. “And we’re just negotiating tools to make you do as he says. But no way in hell your going to let him get away with this, right.. Super-Mayor?”
“Your damn right, Malistrone. Give me a second,” The Mayor flexed his muscles, and within seconds, broke the ropes that had been containing the group. With his bonds free, the Mayor crouched down and instructed the others to do the same.
“Let me take care of Ukko, just stay back and don’t get in the way,” He whispered. They nodded in agreement, and the Mayor slowly made his way towards the 6‘1 towering menace.
“GAH! WHY. WON’T. YOU. WORK!” Ukko shouted, repeatedly banging against the monitor screen with his fist. With the element of surprise on his side, the Mayor used his advantage to its fullest extent. As soon as he reached Ukko, he stood up and tapped him on the shoulder.
“WHO THE [censored] IS-” He shouted, turning around only to be met with a svcker punch to the face, which caused him to smash through the monitor and into the dry-wall.
“Me. Ass-hole,” Stated the Mayor, standing boldly over his body. “Now let me show you how to do it right,” He turned and looked upwards, towards a microscopic camera in the corner of the room.
“Diverge all power to the Lift. Override all protocol and procedure regarding lift use; this is an emergency. Prepare lift for extraction,”
“Remaining Power Diverged Towards the lift. Override in effect,” It paused for a moment, then continued. “Warning. Back-Up generators at critical level. Remaining Usage Time: Ten Minutes.”
The Mayor turned his attention back to Ukko, who was charging at him full throttle. The Mayor side-stepped away from the charge, but Ukko managed to get a grip on him and took them both to the ground.
After landing several successful punches to the Mayors face, The Mayor managed to get free of his grip when Enya smashed her bible across the back of his head, dazing him just long enough for the Mayor to kick him off.
“Aaargh,” She stated, pouting as the Mayor successfully beat the [censored] out of Ukko. Finally, with enough rage built up, Ukko managed to land one full punch on the Mayor, and sent him flying into the Ceiling. Ukko then jumped to his feet, looked towards Enya, and grabbed her by the neck.
“You must love those pretty little wind pipes of yours.. I wonder what’ll happen when I crush them..” He whispered into her ear, his grip tightening with each passing second.
“Let her go, Ukko!” The Mayor shouted, fumbling up from the ground.
“No.. No I don’t think so. Not until you divert power to the processing plant, that is,” Ukko stated, using his free hand to gently stroke Enya’s cheek in a terrifyingly creepy way.
“Why do you even want me to divert the power to the plant, Ukko? What is it you have planned?”
“Is it not obvious? You saw the goo in the Gold Mines. You saw it in the Coal mines. Its everywhere, Rodriguez. And Noelle, Whiskey, Alice.. They wanted to harvest it. Use it to increase their own powers exterminate the weak within Underground city, thus strengthening themselves in the process. They planned to purge Underground City, and make it a place where our kind could blossom, away from surface dwellers. But me.. That just isn’t enough. I’m going to use the goo to create my own, personal army of gifted followers, and we shall burn the world to the ground. Then, from the ashes of the old world, a new one will rise; one where no man is any lesser then another. Where petty politics and wars are exterminated. I shall rein supreme, and anyone who rejects my order will be.. Exterminated. Tell me, Mayor, does a world where everyone is equal in both strength and power not sound perfect? You’ve tasted the power the city can give..”
The Mayor stared at Ukko, an expression of shock across his face. “Are you bat-[censored] crazy? How on Earth would destroy the Earth we know and love by harnessing the power of that.. that.. Goop, going to create a perfect world? The Goo is not meant of our kind, Ukko. We don’t deserve the power it gives. You can't just convert people with it to force them to follow your orders. It needs to stay buried, or otherwise, we risk losing ourselves, and our humanity” He paused for a moment, then continued. “Look at yourself. The goo, and this city, gave you supernatural powers. We helped you train them, Ukko. Use them for good. But your over-exposure to the virus has corrupted you. You were once a keeper of the peace.. And now, look at you,”
Ukko stared at him, and then at Enya. “No.. No. I am not corrupted. My early exposure has made me more powerful then anyone else the virus modifies. I am destined to rule.. And this.. This city.. It will become my first conquest,”
“Look at yourself, Ukko. Look at what your doing. Your not pure.. And your not destined to rule. Just give it up,”
Ukko stared at the floor for several seconds, as if contemplating what he was doing. As he gazed up and towards the Mayor, Rodriguez could have swore he saw a look of doubt across his face. But it disappeared just as fast as it appeared, and Ukko seemed dead-set on continuing with his plan.
Removing his free hand from Enya’s cheek, he summoned a diamond white light from the tips of his fingers; similar to the one a few days before. He plunged the light into Enya, who’s eyes began glowing as she screamed in agony with the last of her breath.
“No more of this nonsense. Tell the computer to divert all power from the lift towards the Processing plant, now, or I blow her pretty little brain all across this room,”
The Mayor sighed. “Very.. Very Well. Will do it your way. Computer, Diverge All Remaining Power from the Lift to the Processing Plant,”
There was a moment of silence, followed by the computers response. “Power Diverted,”
Ukko smiled. “Thank you, Mayor. I must say, you have been quite helpful for the last thirteen days, but it seems that your usefulness,” He paused, peeling Enya away from his hand and tossing her to the side, her body being consumed in a blaze of white fire while she screamed in agony.
“Has come to an end,”
“NO!” The Mayor screamed, running towards Enya’s burning body. But before he could reach her, Ukko launched a similar white diamond towards him, which the Mayor barely managed to avoid. As he dove to the side, he watched as Ukko transformed into his complete werewolf form.
The Mayor hit the ground with a thud, and the white diamond exploded behind him, completely burning his backside. Still, he kept moving towards Enya in an attempt to save her, crawling towards her body as she continued to scream. Ukko, in a sick and demonic tone, laughed as the Mayor crawled. He began making his way towards the Mayor when Christi jumped on him from behind, locking him in a choke-hold, while Malistrone stabbed him several times in the chest with his pocket knife. The Wolf continued to laugh, swatting the man aside with ease and removing Christi from his back. Just like Enya, he summoned a white-diamond within his hand, and inserted it into her body while she unleashed every curse word known to man. Tossing her aside in a similar fashion, he continued to move towards the Mayor while her body was also burned to a crisp.
The Mayor looked helplessly up at Ukko as he lifted him off the ground, screaming in pain from the burns on his back. Ukko shook his head in disgust. “Once so powerful, Mr. Rodriguez. If you could just see yourself now. Its a pity you didn’t join us when we offered you the chance,”
The Mayor spat in his face, and Ukko, enraged, tossed him through the wall and out into the steps of City Hall, where his body slowly rolled down the steep stairs, screaming in pain the whole way down.
When he reached the bottom, the Mayor managed to turn his head and look onward, towards the processing plant, and watched, with the help of the flashing red emergency lights, as large quantities of the glowing goo were transferred along the Mineral Transport Carrier that rested high above the city.
The Mayor coughed large quantities of blood as he stared onward, and could do nothing but watch as the machine that once fueled the town’s economy dumped the quantities of goo like rain onto the city, slowly flooding everything he had once held dear.
The Mayor screamed as his head was lifted from the floor, and found Ukko standing above him, a smile across the wolf’s face.
“Look at what I have accomplished, Rodriguez. Look at it all!” He shouted, laughing hysterically. “The entire City will be purged, and your going to die, right along with it. And once the purge is complete, I will set forth towards the surface, and convert all that lie before me! I shall bring them here, to my birthplace, and give them a fraction of the power that I have. Then, THEY will follow ME. ME! The Victoria Secret employee with weak bone structure will rise up, and slowly, conquer the entire world!”
The Mayor, barely able to speak as he bled out, mumbled his last few words. “Y-Y-You once fought to s-s-s-save the v-v-very same people you s-s-seek to d-d-destroy, U-U-Ukko. If t-t-t-they were worth saving then, what m-m-makes them worth killing now?”
Ukko’s gaze softened for a bit as he gazed into the old mans eyes, but just as before, it disappeared without a trace. Ukko created one, last, glowing white crystal, and inserted it slowly into the Mayor. His eyes began to glow, and his screams echoed throughout Underground City as Ukko walked away slowly.
“Because.. I have the power now, and no one.. No one is going to take it from me..” He whispered as the Mayor’s body was completely engulfed in flames behind him, and the streets of Underground City grew quiet one last time; lest for the green goo that poured down over the city, and the footsteps of its final, and last, true inhabitant.
