Penny Arcade and their shennanigans.

So about that http://www.destructoid.com/penny-arcade-using-kickstarter-to-fund-ad-free-site-231064.phtml, and their 250k asking price to remove one single advertisemant from their website. They also have plans to do it every year as well. The sad thing is, they're going to succeed. Laugh or cry, it's your choice. I laughed, for the record. So much money that could have gone into actual projects, instead wasted on this... vanity project. The Jedi will feel this one.

No kidding. Hahahaha. Companies find all kinds of ways to live, no doubt up next for PA is to chop out someones liver in front of them and sell it back to them for 1million dollars or more.

The only adds that truly bother me are the ones that pop up when you get to a website or even worse the ads before you can watch a video.....

No just no, they got enough money, let the site bloat on adds until everyone gets sick of it and then find a better site.

And when I do block the adds with add blocker the video add boxes(where the video is) just goes dark and I see nothing. - How do you fix this?

I think they violate multiple Kickstarter rules with what they have going on. This is just clear exploitation of the Kickstarter program, which has been fairly good so far. This just had to happen. Shame on you, Penny Arcade!

Also, AdBlock.

PA is blocked at work, and if you know anything about me, you know I detest sitting in front of a computer at home as I've already done that for 8 hours.
Fill me in?

I can understand why they're doing it but I'm sure that money could be better spent than something you can do for free with AdBlock.

Is Destructoid blocked for you too? Because that's where the link goes.

Penny Arcade started a Kickstarter campaign to remove ads on their website. If people give $250,000, they remove one ad. If they get $525,000, all front page ads are removed. If they get $999,999, all ads are removed. And it seems this only applies for a year, after which they start the campaign again.
