Is Anyone Else Bored Of Games Too?

I keep trying to find a recently released game that could entertain me but I end up drawing out a long sigh and turning off my computer to go to bed. Why, guys? Why is it that nothing in this new era of gaming is fun anymore? I remember playing games when I was 11, doesn't matter if it was a 2d game like Maplestory, or anything else, I'd be so hooked to it I couldn't eat until I got an awesome item or leveled up.

Now I just say "Why even bother?" because it's like the developers of games only care about the new graphical implementations and money, not the storyline, or actual gameplay. It feels like any new mmorpgI play is hollow and empty, that's why I don't bother to play, because they don't bother to try. This is my opinion however.

I'll buy TES:O and try it for a month, but do any of you doubt this game is going to even be worth playing? I'm running out of hope for any awesome mmorpg to return.

P.S. I haven't tried GW2 but I'm pre-purchasing.

I'm right there with you.. I play all the mmorpg's released. I get bored of them in a week or 2. I keep playing for 2 months until my wife gets bored too.

Nothing feels like the old games. like Classic everquest. or wow at release. or eqoa. Nothing feels like old metroid or zelda .

I don't think it's just us. I don't think it's burn out. Because when i go back and play those games I still love them. It's just different when it's a ghost town. Wow i thought was a great thing for mmorpg's . I said allllright now a bunch of new mmorpg's will be made. Little did I know they would all be quest hub to quest hub to boredom.

I play GW2 but I know that won't keep me happy very long. TES online and EQnext are the only real hopes left for this genre.

They need people like us , with passion and ideas to bring the fun back. Yet I don't have 5+ years in C/C++ programming and 1 major game credit on my resume.

I just wish they could take our ideas. But they will listen to the masses. They really don't know what will be the most fun.
