How do you relax?

Post » Fri Jul 13, 2012 2:28 am

Starting to find myself being more relaxed after I take a good hot shower. After that I listen to some good music and feel really calm afterwords.

So i'm curious, what do my fellow forum goers do for relaxation?

Take a shower and relax in the Jagar Loft and listen to Dire Straits, The Who, Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Nirvana, The Cars, Marvin Gaye, Rick James, Queen, Meatloaf, Clapton, Hendrix, Cream, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Crosby Stills Nash and that cranky guy and Prince whilst noodling on the ol' telecaster B-Grade knockoff version.

Man I [censored] love music.

A warm bath is highly relaxing.. I actually fell asleep once in the bathtub; water was off.

I find a place where I can be alone. Being able to sit and think away from any noise aggravation from other people is more relaxing to me than anything else. I'd post more on what could be done to relax even more but it's just not possible to improve upon it. Reading or eating or any other sort of activity won't help any more than simply sitting in a calm and quiet environment just thinking about whatever comes to mind.

But then people are different and thus what we consider recreational tends to be different. So I'm predicting a lot of different answers although bathing, listening to music and just thinking/meditating will most likely be the predominant methods that get posted here.

Sleep, video games, tea.

Usually if I'm worked up though the only thing I can do is sleep it off. I have remarkably poor venting systems.

Take a shower, make coffee and sit on the PC while listening to music.

I go to an isolated place or sit in the park and read a book. If I'm unable to leave my house I listen to music

sit on the PC
I prefer to use my PC rather than sit on it. It seems that would increase the likelihood of its consistent functioning.

Music and my awesome friends are the main things to get me to relax. Nothing like listening to "In the Shadow of the Valley" while talking to your best friends on Skype.

It's a laptop, so it's alright.

Seriously though, I listen to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhJZ8p4AKSY it is pretty relaxing for me surprisingly.

For me, it's either:

Reading
Having a bath
Sipping single malt

Or preferably all three together.

After a long day, I find it most relaxing to finish a hot shower, and just lay down with a book.

I usually do this a couple of hours before going to sleep so after the shower, I get dressed for bed, lay down and snuggle up with my blankets and read my book for a while and go to sleep.

Idk, it's just super relaxing to lay down and give my body a rest. Especially on particularly exhausting days.

Listening to music, showering (especially in these harsh, hot times known as "summer"), drawing, reading, forum-ing, gaming, munching, playing with my dog, etc.

Also tea.

Hang out online. Learning something new (preferably IT related). Experiment with computers, stuff like that.
