You mean if they get any share from Steams' sales for example? I don't know how Ubisoft and Arkane Studios would split it, but aside from profitting from the sales, Arkane Studios have at least the experience from designing the game. I see no reason why they can't tap all that good stuff from DMMM into another game- this time owned by maybe ZeniMax?

oh right. ubisoft is a pretty awesome game company though. I'm sure they could take up that hat too should it come to it.

This is kinda on-topic but I've always felt that a game really doesn't mean much to me if it's a commercial success. Deus Ex:HR broke that law by actually appealing to me and being 'mainstream' as the kids these days say. The biggest examples of commercial flops which are absolutely great games are Psychonauts and Grim Fandango. One of my favorite and best games of all time. Dark Messiah and Arx Fatalis fall in that category as well of course.
