Okay, Idky but my computer refuses to read these blank CDs so I can burn stuff on them. Can anyone help me out? Do I need some sort of program?

Does it read already written CDs or DVDs? Does the disc show up in Windows Explorer?

Check device manager and see if it is "seeing" the drive. If it is, uninstall it and reboot. See if it redetects. If not it might be a bad drive.

It'll read some blank discs, the older ones I have.. The newer ones that I wish to use are not being read.. Could it be that my computer is outdated or something?

If it's reading some older blank CDs you have, but not newer ones, it's possible that the new discs are bad, Usually when you hit a single bad disc, you run into a bunch (because they are packaged in batches as they are made and you just unfortunately have a bad batch).

Burning CDs is outdated in my opinion. Heard of thumb drives, flash drives and such? Cloud storage? If you need the CD's for your car I'd invest in a cd player with an aux in port. You'll save more money in the long run, and it's much more convenient.

Sorry, can't solve your problem. The DVD drive on my laptop has never, ever been opened. I'm not even sure why computers still come with them...

Ever heard of old computers that don't have a boot from USB feature? Optical media backups as a different media type causing diversity in your backups, mitigating risk of a singular failure effecting all backups?

So the CDs I got are just bad? Or could it be a problem with my computer at all?

1: Flash Drives are good, yesh, but I wish to store some videos so I got more room on my computer for internet and games. I only have a few 2 GB flash drives.. While having pretty much 5 useless CDs that suppose to store 4.7GB data each...

2: Computers come with a DVD drive mainly because of PC Games and this should stay like so.

CDs only store about 700MB. Are you sure they're not DVDs that you're trying to burn in a CD burner?

Tbh, I have no idea.. They prolly are DVDs then..
