Orcs too big for Elder Scrolls lore

Post » Sat Jul 14, 2012 10:11 pm

I saw an orc in E3 demo and it was huge for an Elder Scrolls game. As we know from Skyrim Orcs also known as Orsimer (A kind of elf). Okay Orcs are bigger than other kinds but not that huge. It was like taken from WoW

Actually, I don't think we will be seeing any playable character that big in the final version. One of the last things to be finalized in an MMO are the character customization ranges. The extreme upper and lower end of those ranges will be tweaked up until the last minute, as will character graphics. We have to remember that whatever we saw in that video was likely actually recorded weeks or even months prior to E3. And there's still roughly a year left before the game comes out. They didn't just cut it together right before the convention. It is very likely that the actual latest in-studio build of the game has already compensated for many of the issues people have noted. Such as the Khajiit character's tail which clearly had not had rigging done for its idle animation.

People do not seem to bother to think. Just because they showed us a demo does not mean that the final product is going to look exactly like what we see. They showed us a demo of a work in progress that is far enough along to show off to people who actually want a clue or already have one. Now if they announced that the game was coming out a month after E3, then I would be a bit concerned. But with a year out from release, I'm not going to worry about it. What concerns me more is the game's playability and what ZOS's plans are to garner long-term player appeal. Themepark games are notorious for their extended delay periods in releasing new playable content. Hopefully they've got a plan in place to break that particular mold.
