Steam is currently having a summer sale, in which much of their range is discounted all the way through to the 24th, and each day certain titles will be discounted even further. This year there are also flash sales, which last ~eight hours each. Veterans recommend waiting to see if the games you want get offered in a daily deal or flash sale (if they do, pick 'em up then), and on the last day buy any that haven't.

Oh god, threadpocalypse.

Anyway, I just recently bought The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition from the sale; from one of those flash sales to be specific. I'll eventually get around to playing it, when I get the time to sink so many hours into it that it deserves.

Thinking of getting Civilisation V, but I'm not sure. Sadly, I don't have enough money to get it and the expansion. I guess I could wait until the winter sale for the expansion.

So, Civ V - yes or no?

Damn, Arkham City is the one game I really wanted going into this sale but I think I have bought enough other crap that I may have to wait on it.

Well what's keeping you from getting it exactly? Try out the demo. I tried the demo, realized I had already bought Civ IV during some sale long ago, and before I knew it I had sunk 50 hours into it in a short amount of time. I asked in the last thread whether Civ V would be more than a graphics upgrade, nobody answered but I can't imagine it's significantly worse than Civ IV, which is great and very addictive.

I haven't played 5 so this is all hearsay, but I've seen a number of complaints that the series is another victim of the common "dumbing down" claim. Apparently a lot of features were removed for more accessibility and all that...and I *can* confirm that 4 itself is victim to some of that from earlier installments.

The Batman franchise is definitely worth it for 25 bucks. Honestly the only two good, recent superhero games IMO.

Anyone else find it kind of shocking that an 80% off game is still 25 bucks? I mean, wow. $130 for one game.

Not quite. They've been misleading with a lot of those flash sales; they show the art for the most recent installment, but are actually selling a collection with many games in the franchise.

I already have it, but I want Grimrock to win, it's a damn good game.

That's actually not far off what a recent release costs in an Australian EB Games. But, as already stated, it's for three games and all their DLC.

For those who were thinking of buying the Civ-pack: it seems to be €6,28 cheaper to buy the games separately (If you buy Civ V GOTY + the not included korea/wonders of the world dlc instead of the normal edition + all dlc).

If anyone was curious, Rogue Warrior is $11.99 (40% off the regular $19.99).

Yes, Bethesda, I remember. We all remember. :chaos:

:bunny:

Edit: Also I bought Arkham City. Going to be playing that a lot...

Damn it! I bought The Bard's Tale and Legend of Grimrock the other day for $8 and then the wife yelled at me, 'You've bought enough games lately you haven't beaten yet. You're done.'

I fear if I buy L.A. Noire she'll have a fit. I'm sad now. :'(

Just bought LA Noire. Considering Two Worlds II - do you need to have played the first one to understand it? I did have the first one for my Xbox but it was utter rubbish. Just wondering if TWII is any better....

Is Borderlands worth it if I would be playing exclusively singleplayer?

Kinda silly that this includes Gotham City Impostors and all of its DLCs. It would be much handier to have a Arkham Asylum/City bundle.

On the other hand, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City both have nice discounts too, you don't have to buy the bundle.

I am thinking of buying:

L.A. Noir
The Orange Box
Divine Divinity

Total: EUR 17

I'm really tight on money right now. VERY tight. Are these 3 worth it? (And for TOB, I'd be getting it for Episode 1 and 2).
