Just curious if anyone has even noticed this yet.

IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Google, pretty much all the big names in tech, not to mention government, have been working on this for years. Anything from micro-implant technology powered by your circulatory system or fat reserves to networks that re-broadcast over your flesh, and nano-fiber "patches" that let devices communicate directly with you body and mind. We have consumer level terrahertz chips for phones that allow you to see through walls and even into people's bodies without them knowing, lasers that can determine stress levels and emotional states, allegedly for "remote medical diagnosis," though I think I'd still prefer to see an actual doctor than trust some spy.

All of these things have been developed out in the open, with no attempt to conceal. So has the DARPA defense/surveillance technology been developed since the late 80s' that, according to declassified government contract, was intended to "interface with, access, and manipulate the human conscious thought process," including techniques for EDM or "electronic dissolution of memory" (men in black flashy thingy via satellite.)

Now that America is deep in debt and China has begun posturing its influence, I have it on good authority that members of this government including Obama himself have signed off on the use of some of these technologies not for the purpose of surveillance of terror suspects (though Homeland Security just issued a statement that "believing in individual liberty" can make you a terror suspect), but as ENTERTAINMENT. That there is a huge market in China and elsewhere, to conduct a grand covert reality TV campaign, more specifically with the purpose to extract INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY.

Imagine, being able to steal a great story idea or patent from someone's mind before they can afford to publish or bring it to market. Or silence your political enemies through demoralization, destruction of certain memories or "unpatriotic thoughts," or "voice to skull" (as they call it in the military) harassment that leads to insanity or suicide?

It is the future of espionage and unfair monopoly, not to mention population control...

I just wonder, has anyone even noticed? Or do we all still assume it must be magical "Universe Energy?"

Some people say progress is the greatest thing to happen, but I think not. Why humans keep trying to invent things like this is beyond me. All it will do is create problems, then we will invent something else to counteract that.

I'm glad I won't be a part of this world for long. The degradation of the sanctity of the individual is starting to get the best of me. I can't wait to move to my remote home when I retire.

Of course by then the government will probably be sending waves to my brain while I'm gardening to make me vote for a political party.

Well to be fair, the tin foil hat guys had every right to be afraid. The US government was actually experimenting in mind control.

Thankfully we invented something trivial called money, the greatest artificial barrier we have ever created! This will probably never see the light of day for a long time.

The same reason American victims (or the economy, monopoly, and technology) cheer for corporate monopoly and unmitigated greed as if they were great American heroes! FEAR. Brainwashing. Just like the Brown Shirts in Germany. Nobody wants to be labeled a "terrorist."

Progress IS a good thing. But I think most sane people would agree, new technologies to INVADE a person's privacy, their very body and mind against their will, without their knowledge or consent, regardless of other possible applications for which there are already better alternatives that actually give people a CHOICE, should not be considered progress at all.

It would be like Dr. Mengela considering himself a "scientist" pursuing progress. Progress towards invasion and violation is no progress at all, even if you technically follow your own interpretation of "the method." True science, is the ETHICAL pursuit of knowledge. Too many would-be scientists or fascist greedy monopolies tend to leave that part out.

Without ETHICS, you're just another war criminal.


What of the 90+% who will NEVER be able to afford to defend themselves, even if they work their entire life for fascist greed? Would we really abandon the bulk of human diversity and potential to save ourselves?

Even when there are other options? Like building secure apartments out in the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico and actually giving people a CHOICE to move in, if they can make the minimal sacrifices?

I guess that would be like rocket science. Or require any even minimal effort or investment on our parts whatsoever, in either case, not likely to happen given our lazy selfish track record.

You don't need special technology for brainwashing or mind control. All you need is television.

Any medium will do, really. Tons of things have hidden political schemes or something to try and subtley(sp?) influence you.

Aside from the invasion of privacy? The theft of intellectual property, so no one but the rich can publish your own ideas?

Perhaps my greatest concern in this economy and modern "reality," is that we are quickly becoming a society where only the rich will be able to afford to survive. Helping the robots won't win us any brownie points. Not when we're left defenseless against biotech.

I would happily live in a government shelter and eat military power bar food rations for the next 20 years if it meant having ANY option for security, for the TRILLIONS we've invested.
