Find local gaming companies. Send in a CV [i]and covering letter/[i], making it perfectly clear that you're willing to work for free. If you don't hear back, make a phone call, or even walk in in person. Eventually someone will give you a job making tea and coffee. Show an interest in what people are doing - be inquisitive (but not annoying). Demonstrate a willingness to learn. Etc.

Be prepared for people to not take you seriously, because every 15 year old guy wants to be a games developer.

thanks for advice but i am looking for an apprenticeship that pays as i am looking to make some money while i 'learn the trade'. hopefully this would give me more time to study or do courses related to game art.

Your chances of finding the prefect paid apprenticeship in the video game industry are slim.

You're best off getting your foot in the door and should really be looking at taking whatever you can - anything and everything that will provide you with something relevant to put on your C.V. Then maybe, a few jobs down the line, you'll be worth paying. If you're looking to pick up some cash, you're best off getting a 'normal' job. You know, stacking shelves or something. In this case, I'd be very surprised if you could combine the 2 (Pay and great experience) but hope you do regardless.

Depends where you live. Some places (Dundee, etc) you'll have a good chance. Other places you've no chance.
