WHY AM I LAGGING?!?!

I use a 5870 ati hd radeon mobility graphics card

2gigs of ram

and a i7 720QM processor

i lag literaly every half second in the game. I updated my driver to fit the game and the problem just got worse. so now i have a game where i can move half a foot with out it almost crashing. this is almost a waste of 18 gigs.

I would like to know how to fix this. If I can fix this, because i looked all over the web and found nothing. so please help!

How many drivers have you tried? The latest ATI drivers make the game worse for me, I am NOT going to upgrade my drivers until I find a game that won't run without the new ones.

ugh i had used the ones recomended from the forums here. 11.10 version 3. didn't even work. i've heard that the newest ati drivers crash even tf2 so im not even trying those.

What OS XP, Vista, W7 32bit/64bit?
Give +set jobs_numThreads 2 a try in the launch options.
