I picked up mount and blade: war band when it was on sale for the steam summer sale. Until that point i had always assumed it was some sort of warcraft meets devil may cry type game, but as it turns out my head was up my own rear in that regard. It is a bit early for me to really make up my mind about it but i think that M&B will likely be one of my top favourite games, that would put it up there with minecraft and morrowind.

What i love so much about it so far is that it reminds me a lot of the wheel of time novels, even though M&B is not fantasy or magic, mostly due to the aspect of managing a band of soldiers and having a relatively involved relationship/political system.

What similar experiences have you guys had, in which you prejudged a game badly only to at a later date give it a chance only to become addicted to it?
