So I read an article on Cracked.com about http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-4-stupidest-things-people-love-getting-offended-about/ and it really made me think. It made me think about how silly it is when people say things like, 'Oh wow man, that's gay.' or, 'Dude, that's so [censored].' and others will get offended because they have a homosixual friend or a mentally handicapped sibling. And I have to agree that people don't really have the right to say that they're offended by something and demand others to stop.
What are your opinions on the issue?
Edit: I'd also like to say that when I mean silly things that people get offended by, I don't mean direct insults to a person actually meant to hurt them. I mean using a term that can be used in derogatory fashion used in a way that is not truly meant to belittle someone based on the condition. Like actually calling a homosixual, 'gay', in order to be mean is obviously unacceptable.
