Things and stuff...

Is there anything on this earth or maybe out in space that creates something out of nothing? That sort of spawns the item or thing out of nowhere? Maybe the government is working on something like that. Just wondering, because it would be cool to play god.

Well, I did build a device to extract zero-point energy, but then some government dudes in black suits broke down my door and stole it from me. I think they were the same guys who stole my solution to world hunger. :(

Not quite sure if I'm getting the question right. But perhaps this video can bring your mind some peace when it comes to that question.

He gets to the point around the 4 minute mark but just watch the whole video.

Thank you. The physicist in me was about ready to make like the LHC and collide OP's face with 450 GeV of fist.

Long answer -
Conservation of Mass-Energy:

The total http://physics.about.com/od/glossary/g/energy.htm in a closed or isolated system is constant, no matter what happens. Another law stated that the mass in an isolated system is constant. When Einstein discovered the relationshipE=mc2 (in other words that mass was a manifestation of energy) the law was said to refer to the conservation of mass-energy. The total of both mass and energy is retained, although some may change forms. The ultimate example of this is a nuclear explosion, where mass transforms into energy.

Short answer -
No.

I seem to recall something about Quarks or some other particle that can essentially teleport. Not exactly making something out of nothing, but it certainly gives that illusion.

Could be horribly wrong though, as I am in no way an astrophysicist.

I've heard the same. One of those exotic subatomic particles can spontaneously appear (and disappear pretty darn quick, IIRC).

Humans sure know how to multiply, and don't get me started on our little microscopic friends.

Yes, I know this isn't exactly what the OP asked for.

You can't create something out of nothing, but E = mc^2 dictates that you can create a tiny, tiny amount of matter from enormous amounts of energy, just as a small amount of matter yields vast amounts of energy.
