well I've seen tons of talk about a hardcoe mode, which i want, but i would also like a realism mode. For example, changing clothes or jewelry your character would have to stop and literally change his clothes or jewelry. It would be like a cool down timer. Thus you couldn't just change your clothes in the mist of combat. Also, when it comes to carry around items, i would rather them not just disappear in your body. Every thing you carry would have to be in a back pack and the item never disappears but it takes up space in the bag. And to haul around a lot of items you'd need to have a horse carriage that would also be suspectable to bandit or other types of attacks with the risk of losing the items in it.

That would make traveling more interesting because of the risk involved in moving it. I can think of a few other things to add but i think these two would be my top two for more realistic game play. What kind of realistic things would you like added in this mode? Besides the obvious of eating and drinking?

If I have to go to the bathroom, do I need to find a bucket before time runs out?

pointless flame removed. The type of realism i would like to see, as it should be suggested or implied in the original topic, is things that would make the gameplay more interesting. You know, like not being able to have a whole invisible wardrobe in you back pocket that is used for any situation. And if you did have to change to counter some frost or fire attacks you would need to retreat and become vulnerable for 10-20 secs while changing. And for the other example, of items needing to be realistically transported with the risk of losing items would also make for some good thrills. However, things like taking a leak or brushing your teeth is not what i'm talking about -_- pointless flame removed

You know, I'd say something about clarifying the rules, but it probably wouldn't work.

Maybe you could attempt to rephrase things a little. Cause otherwise this is getting locked and warnings handed out.

I agree. Mods can take care of these but I am on a consol so I have to really get into RPG mode when I play.

I just find it a little silly that I can carry 10 swords on my character, 100 potions, and all the othe rrandom loot.

It is pretty silly. Just a few minutes ago I had a certain curious someone peer over my shoulder for a bit, making inquiries about the gameplay, and of the things he asked was, "Your character is carrying 460 pounds worth of stuff? Where did she put it?" I answered with a playful, "In her quiver, of course," but his question drew my attention to how bizarre it really is that my 100-something-pound ranger can carry nearly four times her body weight without breaking a sweat. I know that bottomless invisible knapsacks are a trope that's taken for granted in most games, but having an actual pack on your character's back that would bulge at the seams and slow them down when heavily laden would be neat.

I agree. I have seen some cool mods that add pouches and stuff to your armor which add like +5lbs per pouch.

I would like to be able to have a certain amount of weapons showing at once.

Example:
A sword on your side, sheathed
A knife on your belt/around your leg(either way)
Arrows on back
Bow on back

That would be the really hardcoe, bulky guy who is basically a pack mule.

Other examples:
Two sheathed swords
knife on belt/leg

Sword, sheather
Shield
Knife tucked onto shield

Bow
Arrows
Two sheathed knives on the belt
third on the leg

I just think of how hard it is to maneuver with all these things and I would go to the practical sense just like they would back in the times of knights and samurais and whatnot. You never saw a knight/samurai covered in 10 swords, a bow, etc ya know

It'd be great and very good way to immerse yourself into the game but it'd be so difficult to implement into the game that it probably wouldn't happen without a major reworking of the system.

I was going to say something like this but you got to it first

I'm happier doing most of the things added by "realism" and "hardcoe" modes on my own.

Roleplaying for me, is letting my character tell me their story. Yet, I cannot get into a mental habit of eat - sleep - drink. However, I do welcome this actually implemented as a feature into any game of this nature.

It's not as much of a "forced issue" ...well, I guess it is when it comes down to it....But it's gives merit and warrant to those things, as your character is directly influenced by doing or not doing them.

Also, I don't want to die of not pooping or end up pooping myself in front of a Jarl. Did grab an intoxicated mod, where the person ends up stumbling around like an idiot after drinking alcohol, with the stumbling made worse with more drinks consumed. However, it does have the habit of treating the player like a lightweight.

An easy way of adding something like hunger is that you are asked to eat something every 24 hours and by doing so you get a +5 to your health if not you do not suffer from it. That way if you do not want it you do not get a negative effect for it and if you do you will have a way to be reminded that it is time to eat.

I hated how in GTA4 you would stumble around like a fool whenever you would go out for drinks. Like I cant tell when its time to stop drinking. I always make sure I take any shots right before I leave the bar so they don't hit me until I am nice and safe at home.

Best they could do would be to implement hardcoe mode then rp if necessary.

For realism you'd have the Dead is Dead plus everything else from hardcoe mode. They'd revamp how things are carried...yea it got too complicated to program.

Imagine the bugs? :ermm: Or if you lost the horse/wagon thing that carried your stuff  . It would end terribly . Great idea but alas much to difficult  .

A system that at least adds Food, Water and Sleep requirements like in Fallout New Vegas is something I would welcome. If you really don't like carrying 100 potions, dont pick them up.

Weapons and armor that need repairing like in earlier TES games would be good. Make smithing more useful.

This. It's more fun when you do it by yourself, instead of having the game do it.

Yo do realize that this silly thing you see regarding carrying those swords is something you are choosing to do? It's not required or even needed to be successful in the game...so if you think it's silly, why are you doing it?

This game already has the ability to be hardcoe or realistic. Just decide to play that way and there you go.

Why do you need a toggle or "check this box" to do this for you?

I don't understand these threads where people need the game to make the decisions and choices for them. That's never been Bethesda's style...thank goodness.
