Mirror's Edge - controller help

Post » Thu Jul 26, 2012 10:26 pm

I've got a Logitech Rumble Gamepad F510 and I can't really use it for Mirror's Edge. Two reasons:

1) The gamepad buttons do not correspond to the buttons used in game i.e. if the B button is to jump, I actually have to press the A button on my gamepad to jump.
2) Inverted movement (Y axis). If I push up on the stick, I move back. If I push down, I move forward.

I tried to change the button configuration through the Logitech Profiler, but some buttons don't work then and after inverting the Y axis movement became bugged (pressing up on the stick, Faith starts moving but after 3s she starts moving backwards. And vice versa).

Anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it?

Thank you.

Does the controller work without any programs like xpadder or x360ce?

Worst case scenario you can still play it with mouse and keyboard, which worked just fine for me. It's more about timing your jumps/slides right, rather than precision movement and jumps.

Edit: Damn you, reinstalling.

In English? :P

I use this controller for other games and it works just fine though Exo.

I've played the first chapter with a M+K. However, I keep thinking that it will play much better with a controller. The shift/space keys aren't comfortable, and I can't think of a comfortable key change.

I'd say it's actually easier on mouse and keyboard as the game is less about precision and more about timing and quickly re-orienting yourself.

I remember playing it on the 360 ages ago and not liking it very much, but when I bought it recently for PC I found the quick movement that mouse-look gives you to make the game significantly easier to control.

Yeah that's the beauty of x360ce, you can customize the button/stick/trigger config any way you want

Great! One question, is it possible to save a preset? I press save but nothing happens.

Not sure, maybe it was saved and it just show you a "saved" message or something.

Hmm it's because the game is not registering my new changes. So I thought nothing was saved.
