Trap making finally possible!

Post » Sat Jul 28, 2012 5:21 pm

Took me some time to get to idea how to create my own trap. But this thing works!
Steps;

1) Chop like.. loads of wood. You can do it basicly in any town or village, all you need is a Woodcutter's Axe. Chop, chop, chop. Like 100~~.
2) Go somewhere near bandits, and unload all of the wood you have.
3) Make a 5x5 yards wide surface with it, and cover all of the holes with wood.
4) Shoot one of them bandits, and stand behind your piles of wood.
5) Once the bandit/bandits step on it, blast it with firebolt or anything that causes explosion. Together with piles of wood, bandits will get blowed away with it. They will fly really nice and get one shotted.
6) Gloat over their misfortune.

I am so sorry for not being able to record it, since I am on xbox, but I promise to those who actually want to try this out, yes it does work and it looks funny. Maybe it even works for other mobs like giants or mammoths.. Haven't tried it out yet, but I will let you know if I do. :D

There it is, trap some people have been wanting so much.

That actually sounds quite brilliant. I'm not sure how to do it, but I got to try.

Like the idea. Could also try dropping a bunch of wood on a rune. Probably a similar outcome.

Use Destruction Runes. Once they step on it, trap go off.

Even better, yeah.

Just walk for a bit, enjoy the view around you. There are always bandits nearby. This isn't something to be usefull in serious combat, just for fun

I meant from Role-Playing perspective , well sorry it's amazing idea but breaks my laws of universe completely.

Horse + follower + you can pretend to have some carts with you, I think it would suit it fine

Well that would be a little bothersome just to gain a Bandits fort don't you think ?

Agreed 100%. But this was just for fun, really. It is not something to use to conquer some fort or so. Took me 1 hour to chop 100 wood + carry it + set it down. It is tiresome and annoying. But it looked funny.

Altho Legion64 had a good idea with Runes. In that case all you need is like 6-7 pieces and boom. :D

But yeah, it is for fun only, nothing for serious combat/RPing.

Maybe you could also fill the wood pile with miscellaneous forks, knives, embalming tools, etc., etc ...

Add whatever rune spell and ..... BOOM!!!

Your very own Skyrim fragmentation mine.

While you are arranging and preparing the trap, the bandits or enemies will be already launching volleys at you.

Bandits who I fought were the ones who are telling you not to get closer. So I carelessly prepared my trap, and then sent an arrow at one of them. And you can always do it far away from hostile ones in camp or fort, and lure them your way.

I'm going to try that rune idea since my carry weight is only 51/541 I should be good on carrying wood.

You can use the duped White Phials. Much more efficient, you don't have to drop them one by one (dunno if you do with the firewood) and you can make them very quickly. It'll kill your framerate though.
