Do identical enchantments stack?

Post » Tue Jul 31, 2012 3:31 am

I haven't had an enchanting character in a while, so I forget if you can, but does putting the same enchantment twice on an item (apparel specifically) fouble the strength?

For example, if I put Shock Resistance 40% twice on a pair of boots, will that equal 80% resistance? Or will it cancel itself out?

I'm not sure but I don't think enchantments stack on the same item. I think it'd stack if you put it on two different items but I'm not 100% on that.

however on weapons you can put fiery soul trap and fire damage
or notched pickaxe with lightning damage
some good combo's are
damage and drain magicka/stamina
damage/drain stamina and frost damage
damage/drain magicka and lightning damage
fear and turn undead (make [censored]es run)
Paralyze and soul trap/fiery soul trap
Fire damage and Ice damage (for fighting dragons)
Huntsmans prowess and paralyze (use on bows for hunting things like deer that tend to run away)
Fire damage and Silent Moons enchantment on a silver sword for maximum fire output (Uber damage for draugr)

The only enchantment that can be put onto armor/clothing twice is Resist Magic, and thats because you can get two items that have seperate resist magic enchantments on them.

Edit: You can also put Absorb Magicka and Absorb Stamina twice on weapons, as there are two versions of the effect.
