I'm a huge fan of the entire series. I also recommend With Fire and Sword and Napoleonic Wars.

fire and sword was bad. Did you know that was created before Warband? Its basically M&B with Guns and grenades. Warband is, by far, the best in the series in my opinion and i've got a lot of hours on it. Still haven't conquered the land yet

I'm just a mercenary under the employ of Vae - however I've lost quite alot. I have like some 21 members within my band that are mostly peasants that I recruited. Currently we're at War with Swabia - and I'm wondering how I could help with it.

Fire and sword was the best in the series IMO. The guns were pure genius and the overall game was much less forgiving. Multiplayer is fun too but the balance is screwed; two handed weapons and bows are overpowered.

I'm a Vassel with the V's (Can't rememebr their names). Got about 5 castles, and we're at war with everyone since we own a lot. The Nords only have one city left but its heavily defended. Waiting to become Marshal so I can take it over with the entire faction.

Hmmm... It's like adding guns to Assassins Creed. You shouldn't do it. It's a unique, interesting and wonderful game. Leave it as it is :P There's nothing they could do to improve it imo, they created the perfected game but they needed to advertise it more.

The guns were done very well; power and accuracy was balanced with slow reloading skill and (depending on what gun you use) inaccuracy. On the other hand, the bows of Fire and Sword are like machine guns and horse archers are just friggin cheap. :(

With a group of 21 you probably can't take down any of the Swadian lords and their armies on your own, unless there happens to be a really small one out there. That doesn't consist of horseman.

There isn't much you can do in the war with a small group like that. You can wait and see if your allies attack the enemy, and then join them in the battle or in the siege. After the battle if you talk to the Lords you fought alongside with they'll like you more.

Try doing quests for lords, cities, etc. to build up a good reputation and some money. Get geared up, gain some levels, and keep expanding and training that army. Also check taverns for companions, they can have useful skills.

I did some but I tried a collect taxes for a Lord. Unfortunately I spent a hefy amount of that and got captured..heh..

For the moment I'm just near broke, and lacking in better equipment. Still have that Cross Bow, sword from the beginning of the game. No real new armor besides a new shield.

Hunting some small bandit groups and selling all their equipment that isn't better than yours is a good way to start if you're low on cash. Bandits usually aren't very well equipped so they shouldn't be too hard to take down.

If you want a lot of supplies at once you could try taking down a trading caravan from the enemy faction. Some companions may complain about that though.

One thing i realised... multiplayer is extremely hard for a newcomer. 0 kills 10 deaths is what you go through at the start, and you feel like you're not even getting close to getting a kill.

I've been playing Mount&Blade since the original game was in an alpha state. The game was much, much simpler then. Most noticeably, the world map was much smaller and simpler, there was no multiplayer, there were only two kingdoms (Vaegirs and Swadians), there were no villages, there were neutral cities (such as the now-absent Zendar), there was no besieging, and there was only one castle on the map (which was entirely uncontested and unoccupied save for a bunch of bandits which squatted there until you routed them).

But the unique combat system was there from the beginning.

Step 1: Get Swadian peasants.
Step 2: Train those peasants up to knights.
Step 3: Kill everyone with Swadian knights.
Step 4: Profit.

Love this game to bits. Definitely in my top 5.

I almost always name my characters after ASoIaF characters. So far I've had Brynden Blackfish, Vladimir Bittersteel, Brynden Sunspear, Brynden Bloodraven, Arya Stark, Aegon Targaryen. I've also had a whole bunch of Thoros of Myrs. The whole worshipping R'hllor thing fits really well into your and your companions' immortality.

Who's your favourite companion? I'm partial to Firentis (adore his ugly mug) and Alayen.

I'm just a mercenary under the employ of Vae - however I've lost quite alot. I have like some 21 members within my band that are mostly peasants that I recruited. Currently we're at War with Swabia - and I'm wondering how I could help with it.
Vaegirs? Yeah, they're my favourite faction. I like the whole Russian aesthetic, and the Vaegir Mask is probably my favourite headgear in the game (maybe excepting the Winged Helm).

Try out Floris Mod Pack when you get a chance. It improves on the game in every possible way, and as it's a modular compilation you can pick and choose how modded you want your game to be.

If you can run, say, the new Fallout games you should be fine. Might lag a little during bigger battles, but generally I've been able to run it quite smoothly.

Most people don't know this, but you can set the game to use DirectX 7 level graphics via the launcher and then it will run quite well on almost anything.

ok, so I did a new character (named Robert Stark because THIS IS SO MUCH LIKE A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE. Done right) and currently I'm at task with the Vaegir's over some bandit near Hanun..it's one of those "ask the townspeople" quests. Sadly though they say "just look around 8D surely you'll find him".

Does anyone have any tips on how to actually do quests like these? (it's my only quest and currently have 25 party mates with one prisoner)

Those quests are actually fairly easy, just go to the village they tell you to search and walk around the backsides of the buildings till you see a guy who's standing idle all by himself. When you approach him, a bubble should appear that says "Nervous Man." That's your target.

For the nastier quests that have you hunt down bandits on the world map, you may have to resort to using the "See All" cheat, which can be activated by pressing Ctrl+T after you have enabled cheats from the game launcher.
