How did you end up in Skyrim?

Post » Wed Aug 01, 2012 2:04 am

In the beggining of the game Ralof states that you, along with Lokir were trying to cross the border from Cyrodil into Skryim. But how did you end up there, why were you going into Skyrim?

On my Altmer I roleplayed that my character was one of the younger Altmer who demanded social reform and was also a Imperial and Stormcloak sympathizer. I was one of the extremists who took to terrorism of the Thalmor (where I gained my combat skills) but was eventually discovered and I was forced to flee to Cyrodil. However I found myself persecuted in Anvil and once again I fled, this time north into Skyrim.

i escaped from skyrim after i accidently casted the wrong spell and made the Jarl of Riften get paralysed for a few seconds. The guards saw this as a threat. I got on my horse (MY HORSE, i didn't steal a horse because im kind and quite wealthy. I got my friends to look after my house . I was in Cheydihnal when the Guards talked to me about the war. I forgot about it and after 4 months i decided to go back to riften to declare my sorriness . Ulfric Stormcloak was behind me on the road and i got arrested.

Short version: I'm a Redguard whose father was a legion solider who was gravely wounded when he came home to his wife and son (my character). After the empire signed the treaty with the Aldmeri Dominion focused solely on Hammerfell. In time there town was attacked and while the family tried to flee the mother reveals herself to be a powerful necromancer and with town of dead at her command she is able to protect her family. Her husband never looks at her the same. Within a few months the father takes the boy in the dead of night never to see his mother again. With help from war allies that fared better then the father they manage to obtain a small dwelling where the son spends the next decade or so with his bitter and mistrustful Father. In time the Father dies and the boy leaves and becomes a Sellsword. After growing bored with that life he begins to wander, one day finding himself surrounded by soldiers as he crosses into Skyrim.
My character is a warrior with a fascination with magic but little practical knowledge of it.

The story of Aeetus

In the great lands of Elsweyr the Great War had a terrible effect, we Khajiit try not to speak of this. But me and some of my brethren were entering Skyrim for the fast opportunities for new lives. We unlike most Khajiit did not want to ruin lives of many, with the sales of skooma so we did not go with the caravans. We were hoping to find a nice city that may welcome Khajiit who had nothing to do with skooma. We only went to Skyrim after hearing about the Dunmer being accepted and given opportunities of a new life. But as me and my brethren were entering Skyrim we were passing other Khajiit that worked in the business of the caravans. They saw we were new to Skyrim, the gave us food and shelter then offered to help us get to a town for work. They were helping us goto a place called Shors stone were the mine was in need of help. On the way we ran into a problem, a group of imperials and stormcloaks. Before I knew what was happening I was knocked out, then awoke on a carriage.

After I found out what had happened to my Khajiit brethren. I seek now only revenge from this land known as Skryim.

Its more like a tourist bombing France because his friends and family were killed in the crossfire between the government and rebel forces. I think his story is meant to imply that the other Khajiit were killed, which fits given he's the only one that makes it to Helgen for the chopping block.

I did have a whole RP thing going, and still do as it happens - though in another game, I could refer to that but actually the honest answer is that I over-modded Oblivion and it crashed out repeatedly, so I started playing Skyrim instead. :D

The short versions:

My Breton Jelissa fled from the revenge of a nobleman whose son she killed, after he [censored] her.

My Nord Aurora was mysteriously transported from our world.

My Nord Sigyn found herself thrown out of the house by her stepfather, and being homeless and poor, she decided to go back to her roots, to Skyrim, to join the rebellion.

My Imperial Orfeo was on his way to join the College of Winterhold, when he had a streak of bad luck and then quickly learned that the little uprising no one (at least not the common folk) in Cyrodiil seems particularly worried about was in fact a full-fledged civil war.

My Dunmer Medea came to search for her aunt, Dilsa. When her parents fled Morrowind after the Red Year, they ended up in Cyrodiil, but Dilsa fled to Skyrim, and since they haven't heard from her in quite a few years, and with the war going on, it fell on Medea to go there and try to find her to see if she was alright.

Then I have plans for two Bosmer (one who fled a massive bounty, and one who just got lost while out hunting), a Redguard (who's an agent with a secret agenda) and an Altmer (who's story I'm not sure of yet, but he really, really hates the Thalmor).

Ah yes, the dark and seedy side of Modding that few people like to talk about. Truth be told, thats one of the reason I'm on a console now, way to easy to get carried away and more work then I want to put into to a game anymore. Although I do miss being able to make my own followers.

Short stories ahoy:

Spoiler

Rosarot the Nord got quite a criminal reputation in her hometown of Bruma and decided it was not the most... safe place to stay anymore.

Ivory the Argonian was part of a group of smugglers traveling through Cyrodiil. She lost her party somewhere in the Jerall Mountains and had to find her way to safety alone. She kind of succeeded.

Raina the Altmer travelled to Skyrim by carriage, but after an accident on the road somewhere in the southern forests, she wandered around and met a group of Imperials who she followed to their nearest base in Skyrim.

N'Tasha the Khajiit thinks her story is none of your business. Move along unless you wish for N'Tasha's blade.

Annette the Breton grew up in Markarth where she studied alchemy and the magical arts.

Vanae the Dunmer came to Skyrim because it was the will of Sheogorath.

Lyriel the Bosmer simply wished for gold adventure and set off to the land of Skyrim. She doesn't want to say anything else.

Luna the Nord lived with her family of vampires in the wilderness.

Eilonwy the Altmer came to Skyrim from her hometown of Anvil because she heard that the Legion in Skyrim is requiring some help. She originally wanted to be a blacksmith, but the fighter's life won her over.

Faeron the Dunmer came to Skyrim from Morrowind. He decided to live a simple life as a bard.

Saeldur the Altmer ventured from Chorrol to visit the seemingly peaceful College of Winterhold after the dissolution of the Mages Guild.
