Dragon Scales

Why is it Dragon Scales drop so much less than Dragon Bones (seriously every dragon I fight drops 3 Dragon Bones and 1 Dragon Scale), when all Dragon Armor requires a ratio that is at least 2-1 Scales over Bones? It seems illogical to me that more prevalent material drops so much less often.

It's hard to find what's left of the scales when it burns off of the dragon and all that is left is bone. Well, that seems like the most logical reason why there are less.

I think its to keep you hunting dragons and so that you have extra bones to sell.

I'd guess this too

I sometimes find 3 of each-its random what you get, and getting more of one than the other is just consecutive bad(or good) rolls on the game's part.

Dude, who cares, dragon attacks are so common that you can easily have a stockpile of Scales and Bones to last until the next Era.

I actually normally find 3 Scales and 1 Bones, but that's just me.

Not always for other players. My brother plays Skyrim tons, and he rarely has any Dragon attacks. It's all random. Just like the odds of getting more scales than bones on a dead Dragon, or more bones than scales.

I would say it's more common for people who fast travel a lot. I found when I used to fast travel, I would get a butt load of dragon attacks, but when I stopped fast traveling, it is more seldom now. Weird.

I would get two at a time often near riften stables when fast traveling on one file, always one at the college for another, with the riften file not so much after a time I only fast traveled part way and walked the rest. Even when I fast travel full way now to the stables, I have a lot of shouts and even more spare souls :/

I like using a mod that lets you exchange dragon souls for perk points. Gives you a great incentive to go dragon hunting and you slowly become more and more powerful.
