Upgrading PC, What Would You Suggest? : Othor Games

Here are my current specs:

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor 3.20 GHz
RAM: 8GB (My motherboard is capped at 8GB)
Video Card: GTX 550 Ti

Also, my fan is very noisy when I play games.

So, what would you recommend for upgrading?

Actually looks fine to me, unless you are looking to max games.

IMO get something along the lines of a 580/680 or if you want AMD, 6970/7970.

I would wait for other's opinions as I believe I was a bit vague...

I'd go for a GPU, however, your current system is fairly balanced as is. What game are you looking to upgrade for?
