Dark Brotherhood [SPOILER]

Post » Thu Aug 02, 2012 12:48 am

Does anyone like the Dark Brotherhood's storyline?
I liked the mother and hiding in the coffin, that was cool, but the killing in cold blood made me shiver.
What sick sob wrote this storyline? They could have chosen people with a bit of bad in them to be the hit target huh? Like that guy in Whiterun 'I don't suppose you get up to... course not". I want to cut his heart out.

I'm not killing Narfi, no way. He did nothing. And the woman that owns the mine. Sorry but I can't remember her name.
I tried every combination to kill her just to see if it could be done. The guards always catch on and get me then I have to kill them too.
The guy at the saw mill was one I did kill. I wanted to see what the game did. He was easy but I felt bad.

Any thoughts?

While I'm at it, is there any command that I can use to complete a quest? Maybe I can just set it to "did it". LOL

Happy Gaming!

Evil? They are about as evil as a seven year old boy. Personally I would much rather see them a lot more evil then how they appear. Still what did you expect would happen in an assassins guild?

They are assassins. With the Night Mother they are cultist assassins. With Astrid they aren't cultists, just people that enjoy killing others.

In other words they are evil. In my view you cannot do the Dark Brotherhood questline unless your character are also evil and possibly psychotic. That is your character, not you. Remember you are not your character.

Same with Oblivion. The DB in Oblivion was also very evil and had no problems killing weak innocent people. For example, savoring killing a little girl at her birthday party. That is the kind of people they are.

Oblivion is worse than Skyrim to be honest the purifying quest was just... so... tragic and killing a man on his death bed, I don't know I definitely feel more emotion and evil when playing Oblivion DB.

I had no issues with this questline b/c I assumed all the targets did do something evil to someone or something and we just never got the backstory. Besides, after you complete the quests and become the leader of this guild (The Listener) you get the BEST follower in the whole game...the DB initiate.

If you can't stomach killing innocent people, the Brotherhood isn't for you. The point of the faction is that it isn't about you, but about the Night Mother's will. Still, if you wish to skip the two contracts, do it by typing the codes (without the quotes):
"completequest DBSideContract03" (Beitlid)
and
"completequest DBSideContract01" (Narfi)
into the console.

yeah the dark brotherhood was designed to give evil characters something to do, you'd be surprised how many people play evil characters

I played my very first "evil" character to do this quest line last month. I've always played more or less "good" characters up to now. It definitely required an adjustment. I had to keep reminding myself that, as Savlian and Arcona Cor say, it is the character, not me. Once I got used to that idea I actually thought the quest line was a very interesting story.

Now I'm interested in going back and doing the Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild in Oblivion to see what they're like. And maybe even the Thieves Guild and Morag Tong in Morrowind...who knows? This experience may have opened up a whole new area of roleplaying for me.
