I need help with vampirism. I don't know why but none of the vampires in the game is using the vampiric drain attack. They have even stopped using normal magics like Ice Spear etc.. They only use one handed swords. I tried disarming some of them using 'Disarm', but after disarming they start using fist instead of magic. They have stopped using magic altogether. Please help!! And did this happen to someone else? BTW I play on PS3.

That is strange. My vamps love to use ice spear.

Try using magic yourself or keep them at bay by other means to see if they change to ranged attack via magic?

Already tried it, doesn't work. They just stand there staring at me, insulting me saying things like "You're pathetic"

Have you done the Morthal quest Laid To Rest?

Well the AI is superb, again I am amazed by it. I guess the reason they do not want you to join their ranks as vampire is obvious.

All kidding a side though did you also try messing with the difficulty level of the game in options? Try various difficulties and check if it changes the attack from physical to magic.
