Good, fun, enjoyable console games : Othor Games

So I'm just going to hop right in and say it, my brother is looking to spend some money on some 'new' games. Not exactly games that have just been released, just game's he's never played.

Consoles are PS3 and Xbox 360, notable games enjoyed are Dragons Dogma, Kingdoms of Amalur:Reckoning, Fallout 3 and NV, Mass Effect+Dragon Age, so of course as you can see he likes RPGs and such, but would also be OK with some Multiplayer/online games.

Looking for any and all advice on which direction we should look for in games. Links and game titles much appreciated.

Dark Souls
Red Dead Redemption
Saints Row series
Mirror's Edge
Gears of War trilogy. Great, fun campaign and multiplayer (GoW 3 having the best MP experience imo).

I know that these aren't RPG games (except DS), but they are all great games.

I especially recommend getting Dark Souls if your brother haven't played it yet. It was one of my favorite games of last year.

saints row games are good, so are assassin's creed, rage, prototype, gta, read dead redemption, halo, call of duty (its pretty fun multiplayer, especially with friends), and thats about all the games i have sitting on the shelf by my xbox you hadn't mentioned

Gears of War 3 perhaps? Though it for some reason made me bored of it a week after I bought it (and thus sold it to a friend).

Most of these games he's played but he's a little interested in Dark Souls (as am I)

RDR is a fun game and BioShock is great, Gears of War 3 had a strong ending in my opinion really liked it

Now this is a PS3 exclusive right? I think I've tried the first one and it was pretty interesting

Looking through my games, the only one I would say "everyone should play this" is Red Dead Redemption.

EDIT: Oh, seems like he played that already?

I don't have Dark Souls, but I am thinking about getting it because it seems like you could basically play it forever. But I am not gaming much lately...

4 Was a good game wasn't it? Wasn't aware the was on live. I love classic Resident Evil and 4 is as close as they got in the past few years imo.

Played the 5th, was ok just not class RE. Waiting on 6 to check it out. Never thought of Ninja Gaiden

...go play re4, it was my favorite game on the gamecube. I mean really play it right now, you have the presidents daughter to be saving from pale Spanish people, and she won't save her self

Hey now I've played a good 20 minutes of it when I had it on gamecube :biggrin:

4 is awesome... and ninja gaiden 2 i liked a lot (but not as much as 1) haven't played 3 though.

Halo:Reach is a great game. Good campaign, firefights fun, mp is fun, score is great. I liked World at War a lot. mp is hacked to crap though. Ninja gaiden 2 is a blast.
