upset ps3 users

Will attempting to create the best experience for PS3 users on Dawnguard cause MOAR bugs?

Well, just some perspective from my own experience:
I have both an isolated gaming rig and an Xbox360. I enjoyed the base Dawnguard dlc on 360 but will not be purchasing it for my pc version. It has some 'features' that I loathe as far as gameplay. And some other glitches introduced, while not game-ending, are just too odd to explain.

To be sure some of these things can be modded for my pc version, but that's not the point. The point is that they shouldn't have been introduced in the first place.
Sloppy coding and QA, plain and simple. I have other things to enjoy on my pc.

While I have empathy for those waiting for this dlc on ps3, I wouldn't wish these 'features' on the unsuspecting. The furor over further delay will persist but, I assure you, it's nothing compared to what would have flooded the boards with a more buggy dlc than has already been on the 360. It's hard to relish in the knowledge of a future dlc that will be less buggy when you want one now, but what would arrive now would ruin your Skyrim experience...further.
Hope that helps

Ditched PS3 for XBOX360 long time ago. I don't know why PS3 owners are surprised by this. Hell Morrowind wasn't even released on PS2. Beth obvioulsy favors MS.

The reasons Bethesda targeted the Xbox for Morrowind were;
  • Timing: The Xbox hadn't launched when Bethesda came to Microsoft with the idea. Morrowind was to be a lunch title and the first RPG on the system. Of course Bethesda overshot the launch date by a few months but at least it was still the system's first RPG.The Ps2 by that point had plenty of RPGs such as the newly released FFX.
  • System Capabilities: The Xbox was built very similarity to a PC (which makes since for Microsoft's first console), all the way down to the hard drive. Also the Xbox was far more powerful than the PS2 and even so Bethesda had to scale down the graphics for it to even run.
Not that those reasons explains Bethesda's decisions today, I only disagree with using Morrowind as an example.

To all Bethesda Softworks employees, especially Pete Hines,

I know you are tired of hearing all the whining us PS3 players are doing but im seriously losing faith in your company. you definitely play favorites with Microsoft and many ps3 owners feel like you have turned your back on us. don't you see that by showing Microsoft favoritism you are playing right into their little marketing tricks, they get timed exclusives and that makes people want to switch from PS3 to Xbox if Microsoft is the only "powerful" console company (i use quotes because people argue that the Wii is a system for hardcoe gamers...its not) regardless, without any major competition they wont have to focus on making better more advanced systems as they do now. its always been a battle of who's system is better. and to have that go away can very well be detrimental to game developers like yourself and your competitors.
I love bethesda titles, all the glitches and bugs included. its what makes the game a unique experience, but seriously no Dawnguard yet and little to no information on when us ps3 users would be getting the newest patch my game was basically useless due to the crash that would happen when transitioning from above a body of water to below. i haven't played skyrim since the 1.5 patch was released due to that issue. i have supported your company for years ever since fallout 3 which i still love and play. but i can guarantee you that you definitely lost a lot of return business because of how you and your company have been treating us PS3 users. we are sick of it and if this favoritism keeps up i will buy all my Bethesda games second hand to make sure you dont profit from it. i have backed and supported bethesda for too long and cant take it any more. i hope you take everything i have just said into serious consideration i think i speak for a lot of PS3 users with what i have just said. I expect a response MR.Hines. have a nice day thank you

sincerely,
an avid gamer losing faith in Bethesda

If you're still have that freezing issue when going underwater, there's a fix for that: http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/Support-General/SKYRIM-Water-Freeze-SOLUTION/td-p/37310135. So get back in the game!.

Regarding Dawnguard however, I get we'll just have to wait. After seeing the lack of DLCs on the PS3 version of Oblivion I should have been more weary of buying another Bethesda game on PS3. Unfortunately my 360 died long ago from RRoD and I didn't get my new one until after I purchased the PS3 version of Skyrim -_-. I might just trade in my PS3 copy and pick it up for 360 for my second play through.

Can't tell if trolling. By the way, where is Bukee to justify's Bethesda's reasons in releasing an unfinished product?
Dude, they just said they are not releasing it exactly because of that.

But you know what, they should release it either way so people won't complain about it, the PS3 version has the least amount of problems as well known. It would make people quiet... for 5 minutes.
If you see him, tell me.

He owes me justification for his claim that NPC recognition of player actions in Skyrim is perfectly fine. :stare:
I haven't said it is complete, you just said it is non-existant, which is false.

It is not. Not only is it in the wrong forum but there is a specific topic to discuss the delay on the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1400598-ps3-release-for-dawnguard/
