Dawnguard and S.T.E.P

Post » Fri Aug 03, 2012 11:02 am

Hey everyone,

I have S.T.E.P fully installed (minus, I believe, 2 minor mods that were no longer available) with no other mods at all. If I get the Dawnguard add-on, will I run into any major conflicts?

Thank you

As a fellow STEP user - at this point I can say I have no idea, but as STEP is mostly advice about texture packs, at least for that part there shouldn't be any issues.

There are some gameplay files suggested in STEP that need to be updated so that they can work with the latest patch, such as smart souls - the author is aware that it doesn't work as of the latest patch and I am sure will update it in due course. It's a great mod, so be on the lookout for it when it is updated.

Frankly, the most annoying issue to me is that Dawnguard textures are rather blurry and low-res compared to how amazingly sharp and detailed vanilla Skyrim is thanks to mods in the STEP.

Of course, there will be various kinds of minor and major incompatibilities with any mod that's isn't 'merely' a texture replacer... namely: gameplay mods, blood and gore mods, mods that improve/enhance magic spells and combat, etc.
