What a complete waste of a perfectly good budget. This recent trend of hiring live actors to do voiceover roles in both movies and video games is a detriment to both mediums. Live actors rarely bring the vocal flexibility of a good voice actor, and at an absurdly higher cost. Did they really need to hire somebody famous to do the voice of a little girl, regardless of story importance? It's a crappy marketing ploy.
And so much for the "famous composer." Making the soundtrack to a single popular TV show doesn't make you famous, regardless of how many crap movies you may have done the same for in the past.
I do feel like the big names are wasted money, but they probably thought they had to attract attention since it is a new IP. As for Daniel Licht, Dexter has won awards and a lot of acclaim for its music and the composer is known for his experimental music besides his work with that show. You're arguing that talent counts and not a big name, but then you say the composer isn't famous enough? It sounds to me like a great fit with Dishonored's creepy melancholia.
