360 Skyrim Technical Difficulties - Breezehome

Post » Sun Aug 05, 2012 9:46 pm

So I get so far in the game. At least enough to make enough to purchase Breezehome and furnish it.

Everything goes fine, but I can't purchase my alchemy laboratory.

The guy takes my 500 gold and I get no furnishings.

So far I've tried:

- Leaving the city and coming back to purchase again. (Didn't work)
- Restarting my game. (Also Didn't Work)
- Deleting my character and making a new one, trying again. (Couldn't buy the loft too afterward)
- Deleting all of my Skyrim data and clearing out the memory cache on my hard drive. Including Dawnguard. (Works)

I have only had this problem after purchasing Dawnguard.

Has anybody else had this problem?

Suggestions on how to fix it if you did?

Not being able to purchase the Alchemy table for Breezehome is a very common issue that came with downloading Dawnguard.

As far as I know there are no fixes, only a way to prevent it.

Buy Breezehome before Dawnguard. I know that's no help to you but that's all anyone can do for this problem as of now.

Yeah that makes sense. I don't mind chopping wood until I get enough money to buy what I need. Thanks for letting me know.

Since this is a common and well-known issue, my guess is Bethesda will have it fixed in the next patch.

I had this and after trying to fix it I couldn't. So I plucked up my courage and bought Honeyside. I am now considering Hjerim, I love the simplicity of Breezehome and the location. But going north from Riften through the steam pits is nice, then take a left and you are at Valtheium Towers. Or take a carriage to Whiterun. Also there are lots of shops, you can sell gems and rings to Madesi, anything to Grelka. You then have balimund and the general store and alchemy shop. In fact, Honeyside is Better than Breszehome, it's got mannequins and an enchanting laboratory.

Yeah, I really like Honeyside too. It feels more like home to me than Breezehome did. I also really like the back deck that over looks the lake.
