Heavy armored mage?

Post » Mon Aug 06, 2012 3:03 pm

Ok, well since i like magic (Especially Destruction), i was thinking of doing a Heavy Armored Mage. Now some of you are saying in your head "BATTLE MAGE," but i mean a mage who wear heavy armored with no weapons, just magic in both hands (Or staff). Here is what i was considering to specialize in (in terms of perk trees) :

Destruction
Heavy Armor
Alteration
Smithing
Enchanting
Conjuration or Alchemy

What do you guys think? Does Heavy armor give bad perks to Magic users?
I wanted to do Heavy armor, enchanting, and alteration to help against all 3 types Magic enemies, Stealth, and Combat. Because the Heavy armor and alteration itself will give me a lot of +Armor rating against those pesky melee and range archers. Plus the Enchanting+Heavy Armor+Alteration Magic resistance and absorption will help against those hard mages :( !
Any feedback would be awesome!

FINALLY SOMEONE AGREES WITH MY FAVORITE TYPE OF PLAYSTYLE! But, you should have a bound Axe or sword with you, and a good heavy destruction spell ready too. But there is no heavy armor perk that really gives back to magic users :(

Sorry i mean't to say "Bad perks to magic" like wearing heavy armor reduces Magic regeneration? Or something like that sort?
And no i think i'll be ok with just Magic. I was going to just use Conjuration for backup. Like use Raise undead, etc to help distract while i nuke someone or heal up. :)
